I'm not sure why you would want to be hotter in the winter?
If I had a new boiler with larger zoned radiators and thermostats in each zone then I might do things differently.
For now, I don't have the heating on at all but if there is a day when it looks like it's going to be way too cold then I turn it back on for a bit.0 -
I'm in the leave it set 24/7 category. But in our current property I have ended up with summer/winter profiles with 0.5-1.0C difference in the set temperatures. Looking at the graphs in my Heatmiser app, it seems that the system struggles to spend much time at the target temp, so the average is always below the set temperature. In winter I guess the battle against losses is tougher and so we seem to have to aim higher!
That's for the rooms with radiators (all one zone, thermostat averaging upstairs and downstairs temperature readings). The rooms with underfloor heating and individual room controls just seem to work all year without tinkering, although an interlock on the patio doors would be useful!0
