And they seemed like such an honourable company...

My dad once worked for Anglian (only for a few months). I needed some new windows, so I asked him to come round, measure up and quote, and secretly hoping for a family discount. He told me to use someone else.
Take that as you will.......3 -
Just as well as you would have a hell of a job getting him out of the housewarwick2001 said:My dad once worked for Anglian (only for a few months). So received a letter today from Anglian asking me to reconsider 😂
They haven't measured the windows or anything, I've literally not had one person from that company in my house!
I have saw a contact yes and stupidly signed.. they have £199 of mine as well but would be happy to lose it. I'm not giving them any more money.
I also discovered that when doing their sales pitch, they said they done the windows of a friend who recently moved to my area.. but it was actually a small joinery company that did it!! They blatantly lied!
I feel stupid, this is my first ever home and now I'll never use one of the larger companies to carry out any work.0 -
Don't use Anglian, Hammond, Sharps Furniture or any of these national outfitters. Pressure sales, overpriced, absent customer service and poor workmanship. I say this from experience. Use a local contractor instead, you get a much cheaper price and better service! Cancel your contract if within 14 days and get your money back. These people are sharks and don't deserve your money.3

And by the way, I think they're obliged to inform you of your 14 days cooling period otherwise its potentially misspelling. Best to check up on this.0

I'm passed the 14 days, but I still think they can't charge me when they've physically haven't been to my house0

£199 to get them off your back OP? Are you not worthy of a refund?
If the £199 was on a credit card let the company sort it out.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
If you've paid a deposit and it's passed Cooling period then it's doubtful. Check your contract t&cs and hopefully learn from the experience.0

A deposit was put down and a contract was signed but no one has physically been to my house or anything0
