How could we forget them @beanielou ! It was funny the other day when DSis and I came out of the day spa. We had had a head massage with oil so our hair was quite greasy. So DSis tied hers back in a pony tail and was wearing a leather jacket. She said she felt like one of the Pink Ladies!🤣

Gosh, dropping by for the first time, this diary moves fast. Great to see you’re enjoying retirement and have plans in the making. It seems like life has been on hold for a long long time. As a birthday present, dd has booked for us to see the Mary Poppins musical at the start of September. Who knows, the NI Executive may be able to come up with clear guidance for travel in the common travel area by then!Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 12st determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Thanks @milann 😃- it feels quite normal planning our theatre trips again. I'm crossing my fingers for no more lockdowns!🤞. Mind you DSis says she thinks London theatre tickets have rocketed since lockdown - they were dear enough before. She was looking at good stalls seats for her and her OH to see 'Hairspray' - they were over £200 each!😱.Hi @in_need_of_direction - good to hear from you again!😀. I saw Mary Poppins a few years ago when it was last shown and really enjoyed it. It will be a fab birthday present. Yes, fingers crossed for some clear guidance for you on NI travel!Yesterday I didn't do much - the weather was pretty dire with lots of rain - went for a walk and to the dress agency. Found a couple of more skirts to take in there and picked up some of the clothes I previously took in that they didn't want. So these went to the charity shop.Today I went for brunch with my friend. The weather started out warm and sunny then when we were halfway through our meal the rain swept in over the estuary and it bucketed down. We were under a big brolly, but the rain seemed to be sweeping sideways and half of me got wet! We finished our meal quickly and forego our usual second coffee! Still at least we can dine inside as from next week! Annoying thing was it was sunny by the time I got home - but has now clouded over again! British weather eh!🤣

Not so scrimpy as I paid DSis for my Joseph ticket, so what with the Mama Mia tickets it's been a spendy week.
Plus I've also ordered another bamboo bedding set with my bonus money as I love my current set so much. I much prefer bamboo to cotton now - it's so soft and comfortable. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Thanks for the bamboo info. I'm allergic to polyester and I've wondered if bamboo would be as good as cotton.5

Hi @CRANKY40 - I buy the bedding through a company called Panda Life. The bedding is supposed to be very beneficial for those suffering from eczema and allergies - see: https://mypandalife.com/Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

So nice to have conversation about live events on here. It feels like theatre land is opening up at last.
Your brunch sounds lovely
Just wondering...Do you prefer the bamboo sheets to linen? Are they hard wearing?
If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Hi @doingitanyway - I've not tried the bamboo/linen blend as the original recommendation I watched was for 100% bamboo so I went with this and really like it. I bought the original set last summer and they are doing very well - still lovely, silky and soft. The recommendation is to wash at 30 degrees although I have washed them at 40 and 60 before with no ill effects. I dry them on the clothes horse. The new set arrived today so I have given them a quick cool wash to freshen them up.Yesterday I finished off cleaning the kitchen - today I've given cleaning a rest apart from vacuuming.Today I've had to wait in for the bedding to be delivered. Tomorrow I go to have my second jab. I was due to meet up with my boss and my BF on Friday for lunch in the City but he can't make it now so we're leaving it till later in the summer.MSE Scrimpy Retirement Things
My first State Pension monthly payment arrived yesterday into my bank account! And I received a statement in the post today confirming my first monthly pension payment which will be in my account on Thursday. So I will put both amounts into YNAB's 'To Be Budgeted' category and allocate the pots on the 25th as I have always done.I also transferred the cash over to my staff account at my old firm to buy the extra shares I wanted. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
