Maybe you used the services on the outward journey and used the same services on the return journey the same day.  We've seen PCNs for that and it is an absolute scam and a known failure of ANPR systems.

Right thanks for everyone’s help.

I have sent the email this morning to MOTO. Is there anything I should do in the meantime? Should I still go through starting a defence with the court claim?

Until you hear that the Claim is cancelled you MUST continue with your plan to defend the Claim.

But you do have plenty of time.
As I said in my earlier post...

...you have until 4pm on Tuesday 1st June 2021 to file your Defence.

No not yet but I will get on this over the next few days.

According to this post 4 May at 8:06PM you have until 18th May to complete the AoS.  Don't miss that deadline.

Update:

I have had confirmation today that the ticket will be cancelled. They said I will get this in writing within 10 days. 

So I am guessing I continue with the AOS if I don’t have that confirmation prior to the 18th?
