I've often wondered the same thing Viking... 2 traits of the "new poster that really is a meber of staff for the company they are defending" type posters is inane drivel with strange punctuation and random capitals and for some strange reason they very often type in a non-standard font.

Also...why has Michael posted the same thing 4 posts in a row?

  • Kudos Concierge Ltd, dodgy company, BE WARNED!! I have today reported this company to the Trading Standards Authority who are investigating their breach of advertising as they DO NOT give out these Harrods gift cards as promised. Also I have spoken to Harrods who have no corporate account with them and are themselves currently taking legal action against them for illegally using the Harrods logo on their website and stationery. I have also alerted their other "suppliers" as listed on their website to let them know the situation. I received an invite in a mail shot about 2 weeks ago to attend a 1 hr presentation of their services, which is offering discount holidays and the like with a massive joining fee. I went to their swanky offices along with a small group of others, and got a hard sell 3 hour presentation. I did not sign up to the membership club, but I was promised in writing, a £150 Harrods gift card unconditionally that would arrive in the post. Anyhow the short story is this is a scam and I am glad I never gave them any money. They said all sorts of crap like they have been running for 7 years with a membership of 400,000 but I looked up their name on the Companies website and they were registered in June 2007 and I found out ther website was only completed in July 2007. And the Director is the same guy that did the sales pitch in the seminar! Anyhow, watch this space, I will also make sure they get investigated on Watchdog and The Real Hustle....!!! Spread the word...

This company sounds like a typical scam!

There an old saying “If it’s too good to be true then it generally is”. My advice is when you call them to make an appointment ask when will you get the voucher. If they say you get the voucher at the end of the seminar then go for it. Make sure you record the conversation on your phone so you have back up. Most phones have this option. If the vouchers are sent via post after the seminar then its all in your hands.

I have to been to one of these 3 hour seminars. It was meant top be around and hour. It was quite interesting.

The presenter we had who is also the company director stated that the company had been operating for 7 years. The presenter did not state he was the company director at the time. They have 400,000 customers (not a typo) and have another office in the UK. They send about 200 Harrods vouchers a week and it is sent via normal post. That is £30,000 of vouchers a week or 1.56 million a year. Harrods have said they don’t have a corporate account with them. The vouchers sent out are not registered. Seminars are done at 7pm on weekdays and each seminar hold up to 12 people (6 couples). If all the couples got vouchers it would mean 30 vouchers sent to the participants in the week day. Seminars are also done in the weekend. If you do the numbers Kudos must do a lot of seminars in the weekends. You do the maths.

If there were other offices in the country why is there not an address for that office on there website. If you had an appointment in the other office how would you get directions?

The Companies office Information state the company started in June 13th 07. It contradicts what was said in the seminar. Also the website was only set up 7 months ago. The link to the website designers are at the bottom of the Kudos website. The website designers use to have samples of the work they have done and the companies link. Adam Winters (kudos worker) thanks them for there good work. Adam no longer works at Kudos. That part has now been taken off there website and so has the link to Kudos.

Would a company director who had 400,000 clients really be the salesmen as well?

As I did not sign up to get the cheap holidays/accommodation at wholesale prices I can’t comment on that part. The wholesaler mentioned they use was Galileo. Maybe someone should check with Galieo if tehy are a customer.

I’m still waiting to get my vouchers in the post as well.

If “Clever Kiwi” was in it just for the voucher then that is there choice. It states on the invitation it was unconditional gift. It’s the reason I went!! Who would not attend if they are offering £150 Harrods voucher unconditionally if you attend.

    By the way,

Life time membership was close to £14,000
3 year member ship was approximately £3,000.00
1 year membership was approximately £1,300.00.

Thanks for this information on prices it sounds expensive, especially if their customer service is no good.

That's a bit odd. I don't think I'd like a company sharing the details of my complaint to them with another customer... That doesn't seem very professional.

The best rebuttal would probably be rectifying the situation, and as they are catering to a luxury lifestyle market, I'd say doubling the price of the Harrods gift card would be a good start...

Hope you get your card after all this, Hollydays, let the rest of us know if you do or not. I wasn't aware a Harrods gift card could be canceled, out of interest I emailed to ask them.

Also, as a side note, "Kudos Card" is a registered trade mark of an employee motivation company http://www.kudoscards.net/index.htm

Yeah, what shocking customer service! Hmmm.. sounds like this "micheal" chap works for them, he seems to know a little too much!!!!!!!!
  • Bottomline here seems to be this 'Kudos Card 'scheme is little different to the rip-off Holiday/Vacation clubs that have existed for many years - they convince people that they will get discounted holidays much, much cheaper than elsewhere, so you pay the large up-front joining fees, thinking you will save signifcant amounts of money on holidays for years to come. However, when you come to book a holiday/flight/hotel, whatever, the price you pay is no better, or even worse, than what could be obtained by searching on the Internet, or even from a High Street travel agent.
The reference earlier on to Galileo being 'their wholesaler' seems to suggest they have access to the same holidays/flights/hotels that any Travel Agent has access to. Add on the clearly preposterous claims about having acquired 400,000 clients in 7 years of existance, when there is no evidence of them exisiting prior to the middle of this year, the best advice would be to avoid them. Certainly do not sign any contract on their premises during a seminar - ask for a copy of the contract to take away and read. I'm sure you will find that the contract does not actually commit them to doing very much in return for your money that any High Street Travel agent can do for you at no cost. Remember, it's what is written in the contract terms and conditions that matters, not what the sales people tell you in their sales pitch at the seminars, nor what any Tom, !!!!!!, Harry or even Michael may claim on a forum such as this.

Why has IRDman now deleted all his posts-including the membership fees( about £1500 for one year) and references to the company having told him they use Galileo etc?
