I have poted this elsewhere on the site, but did not get any answers, so thought I would try this section.
During the past week, I have received a card through the post called A KUDOSCARD, tellting me I can use it to spend 150pounds in Harrods.
I have never applied for, or heard of this, so tend to think it is a scam, any info anyone??.:D

All this gleaned from their own info:
You attend a seminar-(or semina,as they spell it), similar to how timeshare operates.
The offices they are using are serviced conference facilities-available for rent by the hour .It looks like a Concierge Service-You pay them a membership fee for booking you Theatre Tickets, flights, holidays? (so they are trying to sell you a lifestyle, and hence them wanting to associate themselves with Harrods).
I THINK it is this -they get you to go to the offices -where they sell you something-hard sell, for several hours, and you get a crummy gift, maybe ,a so -called free holiday that will cost you much more in the end ( small print). When you have paid for membership of the concierge service (£1000 plus?) you then get a £150 of vouchers(maybe or not..)
Their use of the large "Harrods" logo on their web page seems to be suggesting more association with Harrods than they probably have. Now suddenly much amended (edit). Edit again-now completely removed march 2008.
Ring them , or email, ask them, what gift you will get, then what you have to pay at the next stage before you get the vouchers. I dont expect they will want to tell you.Sounds similar to the makeover photo shoots that are often complained about on these boards.Expect HIGH pressure to spend a LOT of money .
If you sign up in their office-you will have no way of getting out of the contract, generally speaking.0 -
Why anyone would get involved with this type of outfit in the first place is beyond my comprehension.
Not sure how you are so sure you will get them investigated by Watchdog etc.:rolleyes:0 -
I also attended the same promotional seminar, at the Kudos Mayfair offices on Wednesday 12th December 07. However, my views and opinions are slightly different.....We were invited to attend the seminar in Mayfair and in return for our time we would receive either a Harrods gift card for the value of £150 or a choice of other gifts (All very nice!!!). Whilst we were in the offices of Kudos we were treated totally professionally and all their staff came across very polite, it certainly wasn't a 3 hour high pressure presentation. The product and concept they were offering was excellent!!! In fact, the massive joining fees you mentioned???? I spend over £3000 pa and the main reason for us attending was because our friends have been using their product and service for over 5 years (we have been away with them on 2(Two) trips organised by Kudos, great accomodation, very well looked after from door to door) At the end of the presentation no-one was hassled in anyway and all of us left with a good impression about the whole thing. Today in the post we received as promised our Harrods card, so I don't quite understand your statement "DODGY" "BE WARNED"....Instead, I would say "REFRESHING TO MEET A REAL COMPANY, THAT OFFERS A REAL SERVICE". I would also like to add, that we didn't join Kudos, we were advised by the presenter that our friends membership can be extended for us to use, which we have already sorted....so I DON'T understand your moan, then again some people are never happy and always want a FREE LUNCH!! Maybe you could comment or you should speak to our friends who also feel the same as us.0

What exactly, were the other gifts you were offered?
You havent received a gift yet?
What do you mean you spend over £3000 per year, on what?
*********Why are they no longer mentioning the gift voucher from Harrods on their website?********
Would you like to explain the concept in detail, with prices, for the benefit of anyone else who finds this thread. No,not a long plug for the company.,but simply prices and t & cs.
People were offered £150 of Harrods vouchers-which is in effect a free lunch (or are you saying there is no such thing as a free lunch?)
How much is the joining fee?
where is the kudos in the company that rents an office by the hour-sounds cheap.0 -
I spoke to the Kudos Concierge staff today to say "Thank You" for our Harrods card that we received today, via post, they informed me of the whole story about you losing your card in the post and they were trying to sort this incident out, they explained that wanted to some time to go by to A) see if your card turned up!
inform their relevant departments what had happened and organise a new card for you. Instaed of YOU being patient YOU went on a "witch hunt" to try and damage them and their name......DONT you have anything better to do! Maybe, you should allow a company to at least correct a situation before attacking!! They informed me that even though they haven't concluded their investigations into your apparent missing card??? They have dispatched a replacement card to you and cancelled to apparent missing card!!! The decent thing to do in my opion is maybe once you receive your 2nd CARD is post an apology...or are you just in it for the MONEY?????

Clever Kiwi & Hollyday, are you the same person???? I spent £3000 pa travelling and enjoying myself, whats your point?
As I said, in my reply to CLEVER KIWI, I spoke to Kudos Concierge today to say "Thank You" for our card that they promised, it arrived in the post this morning. They also explained that they wanted to inform everyone that YOUR CARD HAD GONE MISSING IN THE POST!!!!!??????!!!!! DODGY POSTMAN, maybe!! Although they haven't concluded their investigations they sent another card to you today.
As I said we got what we went for, maybe you should be abit more patient and allow the company to sort out what they can, rather than jumping on the attack....or maybe I got lucky because our friends are members with Kudos....NOT!
If you are NOT the same people, how do you know about Kudos and if you experienced the same as the CLEVER KIWI, then you know all about Kudos anyway, after YOUR APPARENT 3 HOUR HARD SELL PRESENTATION...LOL0 -
mmmm...................is that M for the MONEY????0
