We had a lovely day out , my parents were thrilled to see their friends again after 18 months . The weather was glorious which meant we were outside in their gorgeous garden which was a plus. The journey there was somewhat of an adventure the sat nav took us down single track roads , so we opted for the A roads coming home and passed the roundabout to an MSE friends home 😀.
Today is the lovely garden centre after the weekly shopping . My DD is home tonight , they have had a lovely time down South.
Hope the weather is good again for the bank holiday .

Have enjoyed a much overdue trip to the lovely garden centre with my mum , that should have been a treat for her 80th birthday last September but happened today. Everything was done in a safe Covid way very pleased.
I am home now with a large GF scone that I didn't manage at lunch. On the Covid front, new cases seem to be levelling out in my area after the horrendously high rates of the last month, there seems to be a vaccination or testing centre on every corner for anyone to go to. Let's hope people take up the chance , and go .
I am looking forward to some time at home tomorrow and housework will need doing.
Money front looks good , everything going as per budget.

Glad to read that your Mum and Dad enjoyed their trip - albeit the rather adventurous drive going out!😀. I so pleased too that your got to take your Mum for her 80th birthday treat at the garden centre - you have mentioned before how much she enjoys visiting there.
Fingers crossed on the Covid front for your area. 🤞

  • The DNA test sounds really interesting. I hope you are able to find some information for your mum.
I had one done a few years ago, although I stipulated that I did not want my details shared. It appears that I'm 45% English (originating in the West Midlands), 27% Irish and then Scots, Welsh and Swedish in descending order!  The Swedish came in at only 3% so I'm a real British Isles gal as well as a Seasidegal!🤣

I hope your mum and dad enjoyed their weekend trip.
Delurks…. Interesting comments about DNA, I got my daughter a kit for her birthday, her results were something like 55% Irish, 38% Scandinavian then a few other percentages here and there which included only 2% English. So I then got mine done and the results are back, 56% Northern European and 38% English! I need somebody smarter than me to explain it to me lol 🤣

Makes you wonder how accurate those tests are 🤔 My mum was half Welsh half American (that well-known combination 🤣) my dad looked Italian, dark hair, dark skin, but was English as far as he knew. Wonder what a DNA test on me would come up with 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

What a great day weather wise, been outside since 9.30 , just popped in for more water. Had DGD last night, popped to my parents for breakfast this morning. Walked around 4 miles with my dad , come home and now going to start a new book.
The Covid rate is going down in my town  thank goodness , owing to the surge testing and vaccination progress. Makes you feel a little more confident .
Back outside to enjoy the weather .

What a great weekend, managed a 6 mile walk yesterday with a good friend. This morning have been to Tesco and walked the long way back so well up on the step count. Nearly booked a holiday to Portugal yesterday , it was a bargain going next week but it didn't look very well kept the hotel and was miles from nowhere . Will stick with my Lakeland trip next week instead .
Have logged on work and not as bad as I feared but could get busy in the day. Definitely spending an hour or so outside at lunch , will work later this evening to compensate .
Breakfast time I think. My weight loss seems to have plateaued, but I am happy with this as I fit in all my clothes again in fact some are very lose . Will just keep doing what I am doing .
Need to pay my cc off this week as the statement is generated today .
