How do you know what they had sold and how many?

Because he counted what was on the shelf and asked when more was due in, went back the next day and counted what was on the shelf.

They don't care about the customer and they certainly don't care about there bread and butter companies that Tesco was originally built on.

I never realised that Tesco started off just selling bread and butter, every days a school day!

I'm happy to join the rant over Tesco today.  Not about the price of wheat biscuits, though.

On Friday, I purchased a Lay-Z-Spa for £325.  By the time the "extras" were added, it came to £410.

Decided today I'd better get the equipment out and check it was all OK, so unwrapped the Floor Protectors (£40, shrink wrapped packaging only) and laid them down to set the Lay-Z-Spa on.

Got out the Lay-Z-Spa, only to find half the "small" bits were missing.

Had to scoop the whole lot up and cart it all back to Tesco, where after some discussion a refund was offered.  They'd refund everything, but not the floor protectors as the floor protectors were not and could not be re-wrapped in the single layer of shrink wrap plastic.  How on earth is that meant to be done?

So, I'm £40 down.  Very annoying.

The I wander round to see if I can get a new Lay-Z-Spa.  Price today £800!!!!!

How can the price more than double in the space of 2 days?

    Outraged and Grumpy Chap.

Perhaps he used to work for Tesco and got the sack. Now he's a disgruntled ex employee.

I was under the impression that it was the rest of us that worked for Tesco.

What annoys me about Tesco is how they repackaged all their everyday value stuff with fancy names to make it sound more appealing.  I'm not sure what's in it for them.  I can't think that their cheapest own-brand lines also have the highest profit margin for them.  But I have known at least one apparently intelligent, environmentally minded person person go for "Redmere Farms" because they thought it sounded nice and homegrown, only to get it home and realise it was from Peru or somewhere.
And then they put up posters saying "our cheapest brands are exclusively at Tesco" well of course they are, they are Tesco own-brand, are we supposed to be surprised at this?  I used to be able to quickly grab the Everyday Value stuff, now I have to actually stop and double check what I'm buying because I'd actually rather buy the Tesco cheapy stuff than another cheapy brand, somehow.
Tesco marketing is a load of empty, patronising twaddle.
    But I still shop there.

Same at Sainsbury's, they got rid of the Basics branded packaging and replaced it with names (Im guessing just like Tesco have done).

I get the feeling the OP must have had a gun held to their head and been ordered to type out gibberish - there's absolutely no sense in this rant at all.
1/10 for effort, must try harder.

There is a fairly obvious fake brand used by Tesco. The packaging says "Exclusively at Tesco" and the brand name is T. E. Stockwell & Co
