Is 'dye' a typo? If not, what is it as it's not a term I've ever come across before.

OP, firstly check if you have an excess to pay.
Secondly as it was only recently damaged im sure the insurance company could look at the hard drive to see when it was last used.
It would be easy to prove very accurately.
You could also look at the logs on your router to see if it shows the laptop being connected to wifi and take a picture of it to back up your case.0 -
