HB.. My cousin had an eye patch too 30 years ago. When Boog was small and saw the eye consultant (One of the most respected in the country at the time), he told us they are utterly pointless in most cases but parents like to see something being done and they don't like surgery on their babies, so they still use the practice.. and 30+ years ago that was all they could think of. They do surgery now if the eye is very bad but often even then it reverts back. I know a woman who had corrective surgery at least 4 times, she is around 43 now and her eyes are ok unless she is tired.. Mine had a completely unrelated issue, he has an extra tear duct but we just got chatting because I ask ALL the questions.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7

Goodness knows what has happened (to me) but...
kitchen cleaned
bathroom cleaned
living room cleaned
hallway cleaned
been shopping
have 4 dinners cooking in the oven - 1 for tonight; 1 for later in the week (probably tomorrow lol) and 2 to freeze
I have also cut the two long pieces of shelving from the shed (the sides) in half so they fit in the bin
and every time I have moved (it feels like) from one room to another something has been taken to be binned/recycled/put away

Wow Valli, that's quite a list!Piggers, I had surgery 60 years ago on that eye, and can remember more about those few days in hospital more clearly than almost any other part of my early childhood. Apparently when I lose it completely that eye still goes walkabout! Correcting a squint - that was worth doing, but not the lazy bit and I hated, loathed and detested that patch so I'm rather interested in the fact that it probably didn't do a blind bit of good.Better is good enough.5

Listing done, 64 no where near Piggers, but I might find some more now I am on a rollIt is raining here, the first time for ages, my water butts are nearly empty of hopefully this will fill them up a little.Round cut a piece of cardboard and stick it on your face with 3m tape, or sellotape.I've cleaned the skirting board in the hall wayBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

my cousin had surgery on his eye too and it is much better now he is an adult. The lazy part is realy hard because it isn't the eye it is the brain usually, whereas the squint is a muscle issue. I remember lots of children having eye patches when I was little too, you rarely see them now. They seem to put the patch on a pair of glasses now rather than on the face if they can. I find it fascinating how these things change over time with new knowledge and research. Squeak has one which tries to hide in her nose if she is really tired.. it is quite obvious on her school pics from Tuesday last week.. I use it as a bed time timer.

Shoes and boots done. 10 pairs are going, all of which will be worth the CS's worthwhile to sell because they're in excellent nick. Mostly they were just not comfortable enough to wear for any length of time, and I've got plenty that are. And the shoe rack is going from the bottom of the cupboard because the L!d1 boxes are perfect and they take up less space.Layla's home with a fetching little red bandage on her leg. She's already been dosed up at the vets with two drugs, I've just given her another two types. She's back on steroids because her platelet levels were dropping again which is a great shame but at least we caught it early and restarted the treatment. Belovéd's decluttered a large chunk of money on his credit card because he's paying half, thank goodness. Dogs are expensive, but she's worth every penny. She's eaten a proper meal and will get another at bedtime and is now, finally, sleeping peacefully. She really was feeling terrible earlier today but I'm told it was largely because she had bloat. There's no sign of the lamb bone on her xray so surgery won't be necessary and I'm beyond thrilled about that. Anyone who tries to tell me the BARF diet is the best for dogs can do one. That is the last bone I will EVER give a dog.Better is good enough.9

Hi all
Well done on the decluttering HB and sorry Round but I did have a giggle at some of the suggestions. I guess if you are wearing a face mask and eye patch you can hide from everyone else at work, which might not be a bad thing!
Long day yesterday, 3 hours of staff reviews at the paid stuff including my own. It all went well and am coming round to the idea of another member of staff, I do need more help. Then more paid stuff in the office, home to dust and sort washing, then a meeting.
Exercise class now, then back into the office, I have the whole place to myself today.
HB glad Layla is doing well, our little dog is suffering with his allergies, feel really sorry for him but the constant licking and scratching does start to get on your nerves after a while. We need to increase his steroids for the time being.
Have a good Wednesday all x9 -
Morning xx
Don't apologise YL - I'm trying to visualise colleagues' faces as they open the door and see me with a pant liner stuck over my eye. 🤣
I so do not want to go to work today. There's no allowance made for running at less than 100%. 'I know you're busy but... ' If you know I'm busy why don't you ask someone else? Because you know if you ask me it will get done. Oooops maybe not...... I will try occlusion and if that doesn't help I'm going to throw in the towel and ask my GP for a sick note.
I've made my bed, removed an item from my bedroom; I'm dressed, breakfasted and lunch is packed. I will feed the birds and put out the recycling.
While I was waiting for my lift yesterday I was befriended by a cat. A very friendly orange cat. So I went to my appointment covered in orange cat hairs 🙂
Have a good day

Morning all.
Very glad Layla is ok. I once gave Rosie a very chunky lamb bone to gnaw on, and grabbed it back almost immediately as her sharp teeth started to split it. Never again.
Don't let them overload you, round - until you've had to work with one eye, you don't know how tiring it is. A sick note might annoy your colleagues but it will help you recover sooner. Your ability to work in the future is at stake here.
Yesterday I
- did WMx2
- had a long discussion with my computer man
- watched an online video about how to make a teddy bear from roll-out icing
- went shopping, mainly for cake decorating stuff, but I also popped into Em&Ess and bought a top using a gift card that I've had for absolutely ages, so it effectively cost me nothing (very MSE)
- wrote a card but forgot to post it when I took Rosie for her walk
- sorted my shoes (thanks for the push, HB!) and added to the CS pile 2 pairs that I haven't worn for years because my feet have changed shape and they're too painful - the joys (not!) of getting older and possibly wiser
.... and I really can't remember anything else!
Today I am going to do the dailies, post the card, make two teddies, and do some more sorting in the study before I disappear under a pile of papers. All this talk of selling is reminding me that I ought to list a few things on Freecycle or just possibly up a gum tree (I've closed my Bay account down), but I don't guarantee that I'll get that far today. It's going to be cloudy all day, so i should be able to work in the study after lunch - normally I migrate to the sofa because the sun is too bright upstairs.
See you later - hope everyone has a good day xx

HB.. Excellent news that surgery won't be necessary, especially with the platelet issue! I was actually just watching a random video (while procrastinating in the bathroom) about a dog who had low platelets and just started bleeding profusely while at the groomers.. a little poodle. Thankfully they managed to save the wee fluffer.. but it was clearly very frightening for the owners. So pleased Layla is feeling better. We lost a bunny to bloat and OH's boss lost her horse to it too.. it's a nasty illness.
I need to list 6 ebeasty things.. and have £27.80 in bids on other items.. *FEEEEERRRRRRRLLLIIIINNNNNGGG* I have 5 items ready to post.
Valli.. if you sent a LW email I have not received one..
OH sorted school clothes and emptied cat trays.
Wednesday all day..
Tesc0 for pack up bits, fruit and freezer stuff for a week.. and spending the absolute bare minimum.
