Has v4 been launched? The Octopus FAQ page says gas tracker cap is now 16p.
    Also 55p for electric tracker.
Yes, though the official name is 'Octopus Tracker July 2022 v1'

Whats the official name of V3?  I think official names should be used on here as it can cause confusion.

As @bristolleedsfan & @double_dutchy  point out, it's just v3 (and v2, v1 before that) - it's just with the version launched this month that they have changed to a nomenclature more in keeping with their other tariffs.
You may already be aware, but just in case, you can find the daily info. for all previous versions by selecting 'Historical Tariffs' in the 'Our Tariffs' section of Octopus' website.

Customer service said not to go Agile, my relative decided to ignore what Ive told them will be cheaper in this next year and followed what Octopus told them to do.     They lost out now and they got a newborn to take care of
Existing customer changing to Agile involved firstly signing up via product link  to signed in account dashboard, secondly confirming T+C email within 28 days, subsequent inferior version change not affecting those who had completed first stage.

While I faced same battle advising someone against Octopus CS giving opposite advice best advice was for existing customer to complete first stage ASAP which did not involve any contact with CS being as original version was always likely to be pulled at any time.

I suspect that the reason that CS staff are advising against Agile is that they can foresee a raft of incoming problems when consumers fail to understand what they have signed up to. For example, the monthly statement shows no meter readings: billing is based on 30 minute usage only. How can the accuracy of this be checked? There are ways.

Moreover, as stated before, the loss of just ONE 30 minute usage figure in the meter data pull will stop automatic billing. If this data cannot be retrieved, Octopus will bill using its flexible variable tariff.

I am a great fan of Octopus’ time-of-use tariffs; however, over the past 3 years, I would say that 30% of my bills have failed the automatic process. For 7 months last year, a meter firmware update resulted in the return of index readings but an empty XML file. This file contains the 30 minute usage data which is used for billing.

@[Deleted User] You seem to have this problem where no readings are shown but most of us find that it runs very smoothly.

My readings are shown at the bottom of the bill, below all the Octopus contact details. I see my Trackers gas as a page with 28-31 lines with daily usage and prices for the month, then Agile for both incoming and Outgoing with a full page of readings for each day of the month, 48 lines each day.

Ok thanks, its odd they didnt call it v4.

So my situation just got a bit more interesting, I thought I decided to not request it, but turns out I did, I sent them an email after mstty told me I had to contact them, this was done the previous week before they expired the tariff.

The reply to that email didnt surprise me as my correspondence with octopus has been quite bad at times, I was merely given the web sign up link (which would have lost me agile) and was told the tracker is not capped, (yes that staff member didnt understand their own tariff).  I then replied asking again, and got the same response again from another staff member.

So two nights ago I asked since I had initiated the move before the tariff expired could they still get me moved, but then I got the same reply back a 3rd time lol, along the lines of the tracker has no cap they dont know what I mean by a 11p cap and that I can signup on the website.   I didnt ask for it by the full name as i didnt read this reply here until now.  I will probably give up as I think the chance was gone anyway, but their own staff dont even understand the tariff has a cap, I honestly dont know how others managed to switch given the 3 responses I got, it was similar with agile, I had someone refuse to transfer me, but luckily agile can be done online so I got the switch done.

Its rather crazy how many of octopus' call centre and email staff don't know how these tariffs work. When I enquired re tracker gas I was also given incorrect information. I was also told there was a "waiting list" and I had to sign up online.....they then emailed me the tracker online link which unsurprisingly says I need to call them to sign up. (which i had already done) I have been on tracker a couple of years ago and know how the tariff works, its a shame their staff dont and give out misleading information to many customers!
