North West - I fixed on July version you mentioned @5.39p kWh, left Octopus for incentive elsewhere returned and fixed @ 5.46p kWh on October version you mentioned. Jul24v1 was 5.54 which is fractionally less. It'll be interesting to see how the whole month averages out. November's bill averaged at 5.72, which (for the ~1000kWh I used that period) cost me an extra ~£1.80 vs. the July fix.I'm also saving a couple of pence a day on the standing charge vs. any of those fixes.

Would have been £2.76 and £1.51 on Agile (without load-shifting) or £1.33 and £0.90 on Flexible.Costs are so low as I have cut my consumption to the bone. Tend to average £1.00-£1.50 per day on a weekday normally.Today should be similar to the 11th, so I have come through relatively unscathed. One has to put up with such blips occasionally.1

It will / would be interesting as 15th Feb gets nearer to take a medium term backwards look on how anyone on Tracker or Agile (or even Tomato) would have fared in comparison. This should provide a "perspective" against which to judge the headline grabbing spot prices which feature in the corresp at present. I guess Compare will be the best vehicle for this? Though they don't do averages.Telegraph Sam
There are also unknown unknowns - the one's we don't know we don't know1 -
On the other side, I saved £9 each on both days by switching to Go for those 2 days. For the calendar month of November I would have been better off on Go than Agile. All other months in the last year I was better on Agile.masonic said:northernstar007 said:masonic and agile customer has had a hammering 100p kwh, im avg 21.6 for dec so far being on agile in the NE so pricey anyway, with a descent weekend ahead i hope to bring that avg down with a cpl of washesFor me the 11th and 12th have costed me £1.52 and £1.03 respectively. For December to date, Go is better for me - of course those savings could be wiped out in the next few weeks - we'll see how it goes.

Now thinking of going on electric fix at 22.18p and maybe stay on a gas tracker when contract ends 21/12 ,last winter gas was cheaper then a fix0

I fixed gas last winter, realised my mistake and paid £75 to get off the fix. Still saved money.

Apropos of nothing in particular, just:
Yay, normal service resumed! Prices back below the cap now, I (we?) can relax again.
[Not that I was too worried, I was just conscious of it the last few days, that's all.]1 -
