I was trying to work out from the Tracker FAQ's when the new charges come into effect if I am on Nov 22 v1 without an end date. Has this date been publicized?Telegraph Sam

When Tracker prices on the older pricing are low (say lower than about 16p), that's when you can see really nice Agile prices through most of the day including probably negative pricing - I moved from Agile to Tracker but there has been negative pricing the last few nights on Agile.0 -

Has this date been publicized?I don't see the unfairness personally (neither do I see it as unfair that we existing customers have to move to new pricing in due course). There is a long history in retail of people benefiting from deals that later customers couldn't get. We see the same thing with broadband, savings accounts and sales of goods and other services. If you are in the right place at the right time, sometimes you will end up with a bargain. Luck is part of life.Tracker has had multiple tier pricing ever since the first new variants came out. Some are grandfathered in to low caps right now others have enjoyed versions with lower standing charges while new customers paid a new higher rate. It's not just Tracker either, many of us enjoyed fantastic rates on Go and Go Faster, which were cheaper than the current version long after the prices were hiked.Unlike in the past, they aren't intending to maintain the two tier system for long, and seem to have let slip that they could not do so for regulatory reasons. It seems fair and reasonable to me not to force existing customers into higher prices at the most expensive time of the year, and they are obliged to give them reasonable notice regardless of this.3

It might make a bit more sense if you view them as different tariffs, just all of a certain type. Kind of like how fixes are offered, then closed to new customers. Obviously not quite the same as that's based on buying set amounts of energy, but it means people are on tariffs with a similar name but different versions and pricing all at the same time, and if you're too late for a cheaper one that's not inherently unfair. Similarly if you've joined a Tracker tariff too late to benefit from the cheaper, earlier version, that's just the way it is.3 -
I concluded that Agile scored over Tracker on average if the consumer was able to load shift during the day / night, AND was prepared to accept greater volatility / risk. And the opposite. That is why I opted for Tracker. I have been looking for something like Octopus Compare that works with Windows. So far without success.Telegraph Sam
