Hi Josh, Thanks for contacting us. The Agile is 12 month tariff and the unit rates will be protected for its duration. If the customer signs up before the price increase, the old prices will apply. Kind regards, Igor |

Brace for unfair to those who don't want smart meters!0 -
I didn't want a smart meter then I grew up about it. LOL0

I am very tempted to go over to it from tracker but will likely see out the rest of this month.
EDIT: I suspect when we start to see tracker over 35p quite a few days then Agile will have to go up as a economical business decision.

Can't see agile at its current price sticking around for long!4.29kWp Solar system, 45/55 South/West split in cloudy rainy Cumbria.0

As above, I recon when we see a few consecutive days above 35p on tracker than Agile will have to be increased, right now, they are still pulling more profit from Agile than tracker I would say..

I calculate around a £30 difference a month if I miss the boat should tracker sit pegged at 40p... Its not devastating in the grand scheme of things.... boy do I miss Symbio.
I literally remember deciding to fix early for 9p or wait a bit to see if it comes down to 8p... lol..0 -
The attraction of tracker is the voluntary cap which they seem to have maintained for v1 customers at least until their fixed term expires. From my understanding the other tariffs have had their cap increased, so nothing to stop them removing the cap altogether or raising it with some notice period.
What Octopus have done previously is not a guarantee for any future decisions, I think alot of it is down to the numbers on the tariff at the time and their computer systems.
You always have the option to jump across to the variable flex but after October it's going to be alot higher so it's still worth keeping an eye on the fixed deals, I have gone with Octopus Go faster for another year at 35p per kwh and 8.25 off peak 5 hours with a 47p SC.
Yes tracker can be alot lower and SC is lower and there is a ceiling for now, but if that gets removed and Go and thr variable flex increases again I am stuck on a higher tariff all round.1
