Octopus Tracker

Most who replied saying will stick with Tracker seemingly only have gas on that tariff with electricity on a smart meter tariff.
Consumers who have a smart meter that Octopus can take 1/2 hour readings from who do not qualify for changing to Octopus Go thinking ahead to October/winter monthsmight be better off
getting electricity on Agile time of use tariff as opposed to tracker v3, standing charge currently 21p, product cap guarantee maximum 35p kWh

But if costs are high, Agile looks better.
Does add another level of management, if there are good times to take advantage of.
Does anyone have recent Agile costs?0 -
Totally agree with bristolleedsfan. Both Gas Tracker and Agile capped maximum rates are lower than the dire predictions for the October Price Cap. Logically they will drop below maximum on at least some days increasing any savings against the SVT let alone any fix set above the Price Cap rates.0

11th June extreme unseasonable June day when tracker regions ranged from 13p-14.5p
The suggestion is based on people plugging tracker v3 as possibly better than SVR or current Octopus fixed rate tariff from October onwards due to cap of 40pkWh.
I have not seen anyone mention that Agile has a current version product kWh limit "guarantee" of 35p kWh.as well as much lower standing charge at 21p per day than tracker v3 for those with smart meters that Octopus can take 1/2 hour readings from.

Agile doesn't have version numbers so its possible Agile as a tariff could be changed en-masse for all existing users. When I went over to Agile at the end of May I took the view that Agile had become a niche product and that it might just be left alone but I planned for a potential big increase at some point. I would suspect that large numbers trying to sign up to Agile now would pretty much guarantee changes. Tracker with its various Cap versions is a much safer bet but isn't completely safe if the market deteriorates further than currently envisaged.
That said my Agile tariff does have an end date. Interesting times.

Existing tariff Agile customers are guaranteed never to pay more than 35p kWh which coupled with much lower standing charge (21p) was the reason I introduced Agile as an alternative to tracker v3 for those with smart meters that Octopus can take 1/2 hour readings from.0 -
It really is a hard one, I just switched to Tracker on the 10th and I use about 20-25kw a day, on the hot day I used 55kw (3 ac units). Agile is there as a '35p fix' I guess, but Tracker has the potential to be under 35p whilst having a fix of 40.
Its all a gamble.
I am having solar installed end of September, my gas fix with So Energy @ 3.2p ends in September too, I think I will go over to tracker for gas and if Agile hasn't had an update switch over to that too, otherwise stay put.0 -

I think the guarantee would only change for future customers not existing, they haven't done that before with older limits I don't think1
