I have a feeling tracker multiplier is likely to increase the same day they letting more on the tariff, so might be a good idea to check their announced formula changes on 1 July.
Surely they would need to inform everyone of this changed?

The multiplier changed in the 4 years that I have been on a Tracker tariff. That said, it is within Octopus’ gift. If any change is disadvantageous to the consumer, then the supplier is required to give ‘reasonable’ notice of the change. ‘Reasonable’ is not defined but with faster switching it need not be more than a few days.

Peak and off peak today is interesting on agile, cheapest around midday, cheaper than dusk hours, and the peak wholesale cost is about 10pm, 4-7 pm is only more expensive due to that premium they add on for transport costs.

Cheap weekend daytime electricity on Agile is quite common in the summer, when electricity consumption is low but solar and wind together can meet most of the UK demand.

Do you think faster switching would apply here, i.e. customers leaving Octopus would have the 'up to 2 weeks' wait waived?

You will have to ask Octopus. Faster switching applies when a new supplier starts the process: that is, a customer is switching away from Octopus. I cannot see how Octopus could frustrate this process,

I suspect that the ‘up to 2 weeks’ caveat is just a safeguard in case there is a mass migration away from Tracker to another Octopus tariff.

Consumers from all energy suppliers should be able to switch within 5 working days, still get a 14-day cooling-off period ( switch can be reversed)

Agreed,  but I very much doubt that Octopus would agree to put the returning customer back onto Tracker given the 9 month caveat.

Coming back to "reasonable" notice, I cannot see how this could be less than 14 days if it could take this long to move on to a more suitable tariff. Back in the old days, I remember being able to reject a price variation and have plenty of time to then switch, during which time the existing tariff continued to apply. It seems to me if they made a formula change and then opted to give just a few days notice, they would be relying on the argument 'it's enough notice because you could have switched to another supplier in that time and we don't need to give you time to receive and inwardly digest the changes'.
