Nobody had previously mentioned it here, had been said elsewhere from middle february subject to how consistently that rule was being applied.Spoonie_Turtle said:

Those without smart meters with forthcoming tracker fixed terms v3 onwards expiring who might like to remain on tracker tariff continuously would be prudent for them to try and get a smart meter installation between now and then to avoid what has been mentioned elsewhere a separate waiting list, until those customers have a smart meter.1 -
Indeed, that's the current dilemma for me. My go faster tariff is soon finishing, my car/charger is incompatible with intelligent octopus, and the new go charges just don't work financially compared to tracker. Octopus have put me on the waiting list despite me already being a tracker v3 customer for gas. Looks like I might try Agile for a few months then consider tracker.Spoonie_Turtle said:

Similar situation as my petrol car doesn’t charge on any tariff. I’ll probably likewise try Agile over the summer and hope a Go Faster tariff type becomes available again.niktheguru said:

FWiW, I think that Go Faster (certainly) and Go (possibly) have had their day. Octopus seems to be focussed on smart charging tariffs.tlcgrantham said:

Luckily I have smart meters so hopefully wont have a problem renewing my gas tracker.

I have to weigh up whether I want (or can have) smart meters. I have an old PV system (no batteries, no export meter and still on the original, generous FIT). I was refused the original smart meters as incompatible, would newer smart meters be an option?0

Can someone kindly point me to relevant post or other information that confirms a requirement for a smart meter to renew tracker v3? My own situation is currently on Agile with a smart meter for Electricity, but on v3 tracker for gas with a 'dumb' meter. Thanks in advance for your help.0

I don't believe anyone currently knows if this is a requirement for renewal, but if it is, it could lead to the situation where someone would have to get them installed and then join the back of the queue. Bear in mind that the situation could evolve between now and when you come to renew.0 -
The reason I ask is that the engineer who installed the smart electricity meter agreed with me that the physical distance and number of walls between the gas and electricity meter meant it was highly unlikely that a connection would be possible on the 'HAN'. At that time the gas was with a different supplier, so discussions about doing both meters that day irrelevant. Just trying to work out come June 2023 when my v3 tracker tariffs ends what happens next?
