So I apparently still haven't learned - sent my OH to the shop with a list - the list is not what came back. £76 later!!! When my mum had been literally days earlier!! Also, when you don't go yourself things get missed, hence the extra visit he did on Sat and another one I have had to do today Some things my mum didn't recognise and some things never made either list but I'd have just thought of going round - a couple which we actually needed rather than wanted, but when you go you get everything so another £26.63 from me today.

Afternoon all, had a quiet weekend so far, small spend yesterday on treats for my son's birthday and something for tea. Will be going to the community grocery tomorrow or wednesday, and possibly Ald! for the bits I can't get. Won't need much though as we're pretty well stocked.

Am I too late to join this challenge. I'm now retired and have recently had a lot of extra expenses ( deposit on a new car, insurance, etc) I really need to reign in my spending. Therefore for two adults and weekly meal with DS2 I would like to try a figure of £250 which will also include toiletries, cleaning products, etc. I do have lots of vinegar and bicarbonate of soda and some dried goods and tins in stock and a full freezer. Thanks Fiona
Hello all, hope your bank holiday weather was better than ours, we've had non-stop wind and rain today. I staggered to the Mr T Express just up the road earlier today because I just couldn't face trying to cycle somewhere bargainous in such appalling weather so I'm paying for that pusillanimity with a total spend of £8.45 for organic milk, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and y/s grapes. That makes my month total £8.45/£124 and my daily average spend £2.81 which doesn't seem quite as bad as I thought it was so that's okay for now. PS I forgot to say hello to the new people above this post so welcome to @fifi63 and @moneytree1, hope you like it here and find this thread helpful.

had a voucher and coupons loaded onto my co op card, so cunning planning needed. 2 pints milk, hash browns, fresh onions, fresh ginger, 4 tins mushy peas and a large bag of peppers came to the princely sum of nowt!!! even had 7p put back onto my co op card....cant grumble at that!

Maybe try building your list as a click and collect to minimise the temptations?
Save £12k in 2022 - #14 £9,500 £11,036.47 (116.17%) at end of October OS Grocery Challenge 2022 spent £2,696.48/£3,000 annual (not incl £500 contingency) - try to keep it really low for December so we don't break into the contingency 89.88% so still significantly over spent for this stage of this year. Hi Peeps, @elsiepac thanks for carrying on in May I totally missed April!! Can you please put me in for £200 for May. I did somehow end up with £45 left over which has now been squirrelled away in various purses. (don't ask how many!) I will include the dog food and toiletries too. Stay safe 2Scratters
