This month's budget is going in at £16.50 a day.
£450 for the month
My mum (who's staying with us) bought the shopping this week and has said she'd like to for the next couple of weeks also. That will definitely take the pressure off - although I'll still be doing the meal planning etc and working it all out. They'll invariably be other bits, where we do top up shops etc but hoping to claw back some overspend from the last couple of months.
Thanks @GSDMum for reminding me about bread!!! Completely out of the habit lately so going to try for 1/2 loaves a week this month, if only to mix it up a bit, and we have lots of flour in.
(Also realised this week that I can access Forums from my work computer (it was blocked for a while) so hopefully will be checking in more regularly this month and onwards :-)June Grocery Challenge £0/£250

Visited Lidl today, the first time in over a year due to my husband being labelled as 'clinically vulnerable'. Tesco has been delivering for over a year; they've been a blessing really and I don't know what we'd have done without them. Having said that.... I really enjoyed what could be the first few steps back to normality.... whatever passes for that these days.
Having diligently crafted a shopping list covering my next 14 day's menus, I arrived at Lidl WITHOUT my list, so I had to wing it! Firelighters; strong flour, baked beans, peas, salt, tinned pineapples, tea bags and coffee will have to wait until my next visit!
Cost of Lidl's shopping: £40.68, CoOP shopping: £22.39. Stock of staple foods in cupboards/fridge/freezer are looking good!

Can I join please? Our grocery spending has got a bit out of hand over the last year so I want to get us back on track. My plan is to budget £500 for May as I think we've been spending over this for the past couple of months.Mortgage-free wannabe 2025 £571/30006

Setting out into May looking not so bad, although did have £110 at vets, pet budget separate, and will need repeat visits, she fell over and I think cracked some ribs, also was very tempted to buy a new, to me, car, but no, I spent so much on my mini last year I will see how M.O.T. goes, car budget separate too.
I can see some space in my freezers but not big gaps, so will continue on trying to use up stocks, I can see light in my store cupboards/drawers too, but really can`t be ar&ed trying to list them
£8.64 in A1d1 on nothing needed.Do I need it or just want it.7 -
Good morning everyone.
We ended April with £2 left in the GC purse, so apologies @elsiepac but please put my budget up to £142 for May.
I have my first shop of the month to declare from yesterday. DH and I went to the optician after work to collect our new pairs of glasses and, on the way home, dropped into MrT’s to check out the condemned food items. Not a lot there at 6pm. Still, it wasn’t a wasted visit. They have the Clubcard offer on again on the big tubs of Yeo Valley yoghurt, so 4 tubs purchased and £4 spent.
The above spend brings our May GC spend to £4/£142, leaving £138 for the rest of the month.

Wrapped up April with a total of 33.44% of annual budget spent. Considering this is based on a month away that we won't be taking, it has some pressure within it but is probably lower than in previous years at this point! Loads of stores in so looking at mid-May before I shop in the SMSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far
I also Reverse Meal Plan on that thread and grow much of our own premium price fruit and veg, joining in on the Grow your own thread

Hello everyone and big thankyou to @elsiepac for running this thread, I find it really helpful.
Could you put me down for £124 for the calendar month please?
I'm going to try having some fresh fruit and veg delivery boxes over the next few months as I think I'd get better quality and freshness than I'm currently able to buy locally so I'll see how that works out budgetwise as well.8
