The best places for MOT,s are the places that dont do repairs at all ......for obvious reasons that are in denial by many punting Halfords.

Halfords is going to pull your pants down if you use them or others like them but thats your choice and your going to pay for that choice .

Had my free halfords mot yesterday, 3 year old car with 22k miles on it, passed with 2 advisories.

Pitted rear brake discs and both nearside "service brakes fluctuating but not excessively" ... Whatever that means...

Still walked out without paying a penny so happy enough 😊

If you've had an MOT today - then your next one is one year from today.

(The earliest date that you can MOT your vehicle is up to one month (minus a day) before the current MOT certificate expires. However, if you choose to renew early, your renewal date will still remain the same on your MOT certificate for next year.)

My 2012 107 is due in the next month, so got some wipers on order and will give it a once over before taking it to Halfords for my free MOT. Do you still have to leave the centre while they do the test because of Covid? I did last year, but maybe they’ve relaxed a bit now.

It'll remain 26/5 as less than one month early.

I had to leave.Although i watched from Morrisons car park.Car taken from outside into the garage 5 minutes before appointment time and was back out 45 minutes later when I returned.I waited for 15 minutes for a call,no call came so went in and the manager said he was about to phone me,so all in it took one hour, which I was happy about.

  • An absolute nightmare
The shop should have taken my email address, then forwarded a code to me. They didn't.
90 mins on the chat to resolve this. They didn't.
Finally got through on the phone and a code arrived the next day, only to find that was invalid. Spent almost 2 hours on the phone yesterday trying to resolve this, only to be given 4 different codes that were invalid.
Phone not answering and chat off line this morning, so phone the garage. stated what had happened and booked/paid for appointment and will see if I can get a refund.
    A total shambles

Why do I get the feeling that you are also going to be outraged when it fails the MOT. If it’s such a shambles, why did you persevere and PAY to have Halfords MOT your car?
