I’m puzzled as to why a buyer pressed there was a problem, saying the designer dress I’d sold was stained & sent a terrible photo of sunlight on the dress!!! The messages from the buyer left me feeling I was being scammed.  I knew the dress was perfect.  I arranged for the buyer to send the return the dress at their expense, as I’d double packed it, photographed it & knew there wasn’t a problem.
    Vinted “help” were useless!
The dress arrived back today & it’s unmarked & perfect.  Exactly in the same packing & not having even been opened!
Why, can anyone explain, would anyone do that????  What a complete waste of my time & effort!

How did the buyer manage to send you a photo of the dress (with sunlight on it) if the parcel hadn't been opened?

At least you have the dress to resell.

do we really have to pay return P&P on damaged items?

I just bought a jacket on Vinted, 3 photos, none showing the rip in the sleeve obviously, description a whole 2 words "excellent condition"

received it and it's got a rip in the sleeve, opened a case, buyer has agreed to refund once I sent it back at my own expense!

According to the T&Cs, yes - I don't know if anyone has challenged the legality of it. (Probably not, as I imagine the costs to do so would probably be far beyond even a lifetime of SNAD returns postage.)

If you return the item (unfortunately at your own cost) then the sale is cancelled and neither buyer nor seller can leave feedback.

    I’m a buyer not a seller.

I’ve bought loads of things on eBay but few on Vinted. Ebay have a lot more items so there is more competition. I collect Portmeirion and have bought some lovely things, many hardly used and at reasonable prices. I’ve found the descriptions and photos are good and any tiny mark is highlighted. What also impresses me is the work of art that many sellers make of packaging. 😺. It often takes me a while to unwrap it but my lovely China is well protected.

I had one bad experience on Vinted. I bought what were described as “new leather bags”. I bought 2. They were neither new nor were they leather. I asked for a refund as they were not as described but the person didn’t want them back (I wonder why😹) and offered me a partial refund. I accepted it because they weren’t dear so I hadn’t lost much. Sadly they items were so awful I wouldn’t take them to a charity shop
