In case anyone is in the area EVERYTHING in the shop is now 10p. Not a lot of choice, but some nice school skirts (of course my daughter will only wear trousers) and lots of Christmas things. Two women who were in the shop today had a trolley loaded with stuff that they were obviously going to re-sell. Some of it should make a good profit too. Matalan are currently restocking and about half the shop is fenced off, ready to open with all the new stuff on Tuesday.0

Hi Guys
Just to update you all on the Matalan Clearance Store.
Store was closed for two days to restock with new goods. Reopened Tuesday with usual HUGE queue.
Lots of new stock, Gents suits, Homewares, Jeans, Kids clothing etc. However, prices have definately went up. (I am a regular at this store and am used to the £5 denims and £2 shirts) All stock is now half regular Matalan store prices.
Still a good deal, with loads of new stuff to choose from, but not so if all the regular Matalan stores are having one of their half price sales. (and of course if you are used to the clearance prices)
Will keep an eye open for price changes and keep the forum updated as and when.
Cheers

mitchb wrote:Can anyone help with directions from the m8, i also would ike to visit, thanks
I saw the other set of directions posted but I live in the area and still couldn't follow them (LOL) so I thought I'd post what my DH calls 'wummin directions': :rotfl:
Leave the M8 at J26 signposted as Hillington/Braehead
This takes you to the roundabout under the M8. Go round the roundabout and take the exit for Braehead/Renfrew (3rd exit if you came from the east, 1st exit if you came from the west). Stay in the left hand lane and take the first exit at the next roundabout. This takes you along a short dual carriageway, past the Deanpark hotel, to another roundabout. Turn right at this roundabout, which takes you straight up Renfrew High Street. This comes to a T-junction with traffic lights at the end. Turn left at these lights. This takes you along a fairly busy wee shopping street to a small roundabout where you turn right. You will see the police station on your right and the park on your left. At the next roundabout turn right which takes you into the retail park. Drive straight on and you'll see the matalan store on your left.
Hope that helps if you are like me and need landmarks instead of numbers and letters!0 -
Went to this shop a few weeks ago...and its not as good as it used to be....most of the stuff is just half price with not very many of the 1.00 and 2.00 bargains that there were previousely0

I think it's just your luck what stock is in when you go to be honest. I went today and although the massive discount thing was only on yesterday I still got a load of bargains. I got 2 t-shirts for hubby, 4 sets of PJs, 4t-shirts, 4 pairs of shorts, and a skirt for my 3 year old daughter. The entire total was £15. Can't knock that.
I have to say that not a lot of stuff for wee girls at the moment but if you've boys aged under 5 there's wads of reduced stuff. Similarly I felt there wasn't a great deal of nice ladies stuff but there's a huge amount of mens printed t-shirts (quite trendy too) and mainly all £2/£3 each.0 -
