Good morning and happy Saturday. I’m glad to share my kindle habit with so many of you. I’m currently reading No Plan B and, although I was looking forward to it I’m finding it slower going than the usual reachers. I’m almost halfway through and they’re still setting the scene and Reacher isn't in much of it yet.
My car was £540 on Wednesday for the front brakes and the back end was identified as a broken spring, which I’m assured is completely safe until it’s done. They suggested just replacing one, but google tells me they should be done in pairs and to be honest I’d rather them both done than be going through the other side dropping in 6 months or so and having to do it all again. So that’s another £5-600 to find for next Friday. It’s at times like these when I’m relieved to have no debt and some savings, whilst also being sad that my savings have stalled for a few months. I’ll try and make a big difference to them next year!
Today is lunch out and a trip to L*dl.

Enjoy your weekend. Annoying about the car bill, but great that you can pay."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

I agree it’s best to get both wheels done at once. Cars are great when they’re working well - Expensive when things go wrong thoughJanuary spends - £587.582

At least once the car is done it’s done and hopefully that will be it for some time. Hope you’ve had a nice day.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

I hope you all have a nice Sunday.
I agree, better to get the car done and fingers crossed there’s no more for a while so I can pull the savings back on track. It’s been an expensive few months. We have a MrT order this afternoon, so I might give the dog drive a miss today. I’ll see if she starts whinging. MrWW is at work today so I plan to watch at least some of The English and do some sewing.I’m really hoping Tony doesn’t make it to Blackpool on Strictly. The rest of them are so good, it would be cruel to leave him in.What do you all have planned for today? ☕️📚⭐️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Definitely time for Tony to go, he’s outstaying his welcome now and it’s not fair when better dancers are going out. Having said that people are obviously voting for him 🤔I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Having said that people are obviously voting for him 🤔@Deni_debt-free_dreamer I’ve not read any Elly Griffiths before, but will look out for her. I tend to go mostly for complete fantasy and magic type escapism with a few real world murder and investigation books thrown in every now and again 😁 I used to read a lot of historical fiction, but haven’t gone back to that for a while. There aren’t enough free hours in the day 😕 Every so often I go back to reread trusty favourites like Georgette Heyer as a reading version of a palate cleanser. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
