Christmas is looming and I want to get it done and dusted before December, add in my car repair and I’ll definitely not be saving this month. I’m just hoping not to go backwards. December should be a lot better if I get everything over with now. It all rests on how painful the car is. I’ve set aside £800, but it could be worse as I’ve asked them to look at something on top of the job it’s in for.The little boy cat with the girls name came 3 times a day all weekend for feeding and squeezed in the house several times. Today he’s not been so I hope he’s gone home for a bit….he eats like a horse! Sadly I’ve been eating like a horse too 😖
Has anyone got any good ideas of what they want for Christmas?? I just don’t know and I keep being asked….maybe you can give me some nice ideas? Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

No idea what I want for Christmas…..neither do I have any idea what to get my grown up kids….or hubby. I could buy for the gks over and over…..I promised dd I wouldn’t go too mad…..I’ve tried very hard not to 😂😂😂 not sure I’ve succeeded 🙄
I’ve also eaten for England….the harder I try the more I eat cake 🤷♀️January spends - £587.581 -
So pleased all is well. Since my daughter being poorly in the summer as a family we aren't buying presents just having experiences to make memories. Just back from a few days spent where I was born and grew up (birthday pressie) it was lovely sharing my childhood with them. My daughter made me a cushion (she has only just learnt crochet) unfortunately it's in the same coloured wool I am crocheting her one for Christmas!! Homemade gifts are allowed but not bought ones.
I have the same problem I can't seem to find my off switch where food is concerned not doing a great deal for the waist line!
Hope your lovely dog is OK when my girl lost her bounce I kept her steps in the car so we could still enjoy little outings, I still find it hard to believe she was the same dog that ate a TV remote, mobile phone and most of the skirting boards and ran amok in the garden. Have a good week x1 -
I’m glad you’re ok. I can never think what presents I want when people ask (not that many do) but I tend to ask for a new cookbook. I love cookbooks but have so many I can’t justify buying myself yet another one but if someone else buys me one then that’s fine 😁 Is there something you’d like but don’t really need?I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Good morning and happy Tuesday. It’s lovely to hear from you all again.
yesterday I bought 2 chocolate cabinets from hotel c for 2 of my family. They are the ones with the slide out drawer and seem very decadent. There is an offer on at the moment, a voucher takes off £5, £10 or £20 depending how much you spend, so it’s worth going in now and choosing a December delivery date if you need anything from there.Dog is fine, but it’s sad to see her grow old. My puppy memories from 12 years ago keep popping up (where we were both 10 times smaller and enthusiastic). She refuses to use steps or ramps, we’ve tried everything.@milann, I only have to glance at a cake and I put another spare tyre on! I guess at least I’m winter ready…sigh.I have lots of cookbooks @Sun_Addict, but I’m bad for using them like picture books and never having the right ingredients in to make anything 🙄
I’m always buying kindle books, but that’s not something you can ask for as it needs to be linked to your kindle. It’s difficult as I’d just get the small things and the big things are too big to ask for. There aren’t much things to do as experiences up here, we are hampered by being far from family so can’t do group things and can’t leave lovely dog for too long. When I come up with some ideas I will share them in case it helps 😁
I hope you all have a lovely day filled with happiness and good things ☕️📚Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

Ask for amazon vouchers and/or a selection box. All bases covered and you can treat yourself throughout the year instead of having a load of stuff that you don't want or need landing in December.2

I always put the Neals Yard lotions and potions I use on my list. As its my birthday in January as well, I generally get enough to last me the year.Other ideas are vouchers (or promise notes) for meals out at your local nice restaurant, dressing gown, items for your garden, a pedicure or a massage.
i keep a running wish list on Amazon through the year, not for people to buy from there but just ideas of things I want. Includes things like pedicure voucher from Sarah and her phone number !2 -
Winter warrior, If you know the books you want someone can purchase the kindle version and email the link. I think you can choose the date it is delivered. Seems a bit more personal than sending a kindle or Amazon gift card and I really appreciate having the books on the kindle as then I will have it permanently and don't need to store the book somewhere (full bookshelves and not good at giving or throwing books away).Sadly I too am well supplied with winter padding and if I keep eating the chocolate oranges that are stored for Christmas will be developing more spare tyres!2

It's always books for me too - I'm happy with vouchers so I can buy the kindle books but otherwise it's nice when people choose a random book for me as it's quite fun to see what they choose.
I too keep an amazon wishlist going and I add things on there during the year when I fancy something. I usually buy cheapie toiletries so I add something a bit posher as gift ideas so that I get a bit of a treat."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
