I’m only on NSD 1 today, don’t beat yourself up it’s only the 3rd. January is the longest month of the year and has what feels like 95 days so plenty of time 🤣

ooh much happiness.  I love Georgette Heyer too - Venetia has to be my favourite, closely followed by Cotillon, Frederica, Grand Sophy, etc.  It'd be easier to list the ones I am not keen on.  Penhallow, and My Lord John etc.

Obviously into Pratchett.  Agatha Christie,  Allingham, Tey, Marsh, etc.

    And Hotel Chocolat. sleeksters

    I like this diary.

@moving_forward how lovely to have a chariot ♥️ it wouldn’t work with a 50kg labrablob sadly. She’s always been food driven and now she’s old she can’t burn it off ☹️

  • You can get big chariots for slimline labs. They are like those child's cycle tag a longs. We used to use one when we had the two dogs. Mr M_F used to tow it behind his bike and I could keep up😂

    Welcome @redofromstart, you’ll fit right in 😁
Ah Frederica and her brothers, lovely! So many excellent stories.

@Sun_Addict you are so right…at least 95 days, possibly more 😢 it will feel like the next pay day is in 2023 😢 I hope my chocolate stash will see me through.

  • Good morning and happy Tuesday 📚🍫☕️
My last day off 😢 Expect many tears tomorrow!
Most dd’s went out today after the BH delay and I Tilly tidied £1.53 to the mortgage, leaving me with a big fat zero after all the expected spends come out in January 😬 There’ll be some left over as I’m estimating £150 for fuel (for my car) and a couple of big presents. I may need to take money from savings in a week or two to pay for heating oil, although I’m hoping that might last until the end of the month, but I won’t cut it too fine. So we’ll see how it goes. I have £200 in a pot for this, but it’s more likely to be around £300. It would be wonderful to wait until next pay day and have the full pot to cover it. But if not, it’ll definitely be cover by the pot the next time I need it.
As usual, if I hadn’t got carried away at the beginning I’d be a lot happier now…and because pay day was early, it happened earlier than normal. As SA said…only 95 days of January left to go 🤣
Frittering is my nemesis so it’s going to be hard!
I’m not sure what’s on the cards for today, but MrWW is wanting a trip to the post office to send something back so I’ll be going out, out.
I hope you all have terrific Tuesdays filled with all good things 📚☕️🍫

We have a week in March booked, but I need more, so much more!
MrWW is in a real grump today, he’s always like this before going back to work, so I’m turning a blind eye 😁 Apparently I took my mask off and sanitized my hands in the wrong order after we went to the co-op attached to the post office…and everyone (very quiet store) was rashly ignoring distancing (not that I noticed), then the self checkout (which actually worked perfectly) made him really cross as he couldn’t be bothered with all that…sigh!
Anyway back home now and catching up on call the midwife.
And I spent something 😖 £12.01 on some slippers. I really hate slippers and associate them with ‘old’, but I’m fed up of my toes being cold when I’m working. So I’m already i to my zero budget…no more, I promise, no more!
