carolbee - I had my flu jab a couple of weeks ago and had a sore arm for days, I don't normally feel it let alone have a sore arm, but I didn't feel ill so that was a positive.

WinterWarrior - I'm going to try a 'don't spend on anything ' every other week up to Xmas, as I'm getting worried about managing the money with prices going up on everything. I'll just have to make sure I don't spend twice as much on a spend week!!

  • Oh @nannygladys that sounds brutal! Although you might make small savings by buying in bulk less often? You do so much cost saving with your home grown veg already, i think it will be hard to cut back more? I bulk buy some household and food items each month/few months, but the savings from doing that aren’t huge. The rising fuel costs and threats of businesses passing on costs to their customers is very worrying.
I was quite spendy today, £3.80 postage, £17 on a birthday present, £33 in Ldl. We had lunch out, but I didn’t pay, and the chips with my beef baguette were perfect, just the right level of crispy outside and squishy middle. This evening we enjoyed the spoils of Lidl with a toffee yum yum and bourbon vanilla ice cream…the diet is not going well! 😋 Luckily holiday food doesn’t count and needs to be a bit special!
We have started squirrelling away a few nice bits for Christmas, stuffing, sauces, frozen food, biscuits, etc. so it won’t be a massive hit in December.

  • Good morning and happy Tuesday ☕️🍫📚🍁🎃
Today there are no plans so I am declaring an NSD.
probably tomorrow will be spendy as we need to bulk buy the cat litter (as Mr.T is still failing there) and it’s my turn to pay for lunch (so the brownie sundae is on the cards 😋) and maybe a dangerous look at Christmas goodies in the counties one and only b&m! I need to be a bit relaxed as it’s a holiday, but will definitely be planning the last 2 weeks of October as off the charts frugal 😬
I have no idea what to do today…I don’t want to fall into my usual trap of wishing I was off when I’m at work and wishing I’m at work when I’m off!
I haven’t got up yet, but all the cats are in bed with or on me and dog is snoring at the bottom. MrWW fed them all and then they all came back. They prefer a warm bed to watching the Xbox 🤣

Happy Tuesday. Whenever I’m on leave I like to have a plan in place of what I want to do so I don’t waste the week off.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Have a really lovely day x
  • Have a happy Tuesday WinterWarrior.
It's a grey dreary day here in the NW but i'm at work anyway (from home today).  I did put my washing out then got stuck on a Team meeting call as i watched the rain come down making it all wet again :(

Morning, windy again here so washing out.  Out with a friend later to the glitzy display at the garden centre with the singing pink unicorn.  Saw first photos of the exact puppy our Australian grandchildren are getting next week. Have sent her a welcome to the family card 🐶

Don't wish your time off away @WinterWarrior, enjoy that brownie pudding ......

  • It’s not too windy here, but cold and damp with blue skies. We have set up the wild life camera in the trees and have baited the ground in front, let’s see what we get! We have loads of bunnies just bouncing around outside the house and I feed them carrots and apples and they enjoy the birds bread, but I’m hoping for something more exotic away from the house! I once thought I saw a monkey in a tree…obviously it wasn’t, but I’d love to know what it really was 🤣

  • I was talking to someone at work yesterday about how harder I find it to save than to pay money back,  I think its because I've never really had savings so anything in the pot is a bonus...whereas CC i want cleared ( & I have struggled with that lately  :D )  Have a lovely day!
