Morning, sun out now after early fog. Feeling a bit off today as didn't sleep well last night, hot and cold, had flu jab yesterday so guessing it’s that. A bit of pottering in store and some restorative reading and choc. Might look through my Nigel Slater Christmas Chronicles book
There’s a few people saying they felt off after this year’s flu jab. Got mine on Saturday.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

I was like that after my flu jab, a good nights sleep the following night and I felt much better.

  • @maggiem I found her with the firebrand series, which are good, but not complete yet. If you want a full set then the Bo Blackman ones are good. I haven’t read everything she’s done yet, but you can tell the earlier ones (eg Highland Magic series) from the later ones. They are still good, but not as polished. Have you read all the Patricia Briggs and Ilona Andrews books? They are my favourite fantasy writers. Darynda Jones is a lot of fun too!
You have all been really busy this Sunday, I love reading all of your updates, thank you 🧁
@carolbee I hope you feel better soon. Like @Sun_Addict I’ve seen quite a few people have had reactions on here.
@Deni_debt-free_dreamer have a fabulous time watching Bond. I really like DC in that role and can’t wait to see the new one….I do hope they don’t replace the next 007 with a girl, it would be so wrong and quite unnecessary I think.
@Naomim please report back to let us know if you survive, we will all be routing for you!

So far I've hoovered downstairs, and cleaned the minging bathroom including getting my twizzler down the plug hole to get hair out 🤢.  16yo is in his room with a bin liner so I'm just waiting to get in there.

  • WinterWarrior - JB was brilliant!  I've only ever seen the films with DC in!  I went to see Skyfall when they showed it in the local school & a friend invited me; wasn't that bothered but now i love all the ones with him in  <3
Naomim - that's a gross job; i have 2 x DDs both with very long thick hair so i used to regularly do that job - one has moved out and the other is at uni so now it's only my hair i have to fish out :)
Sundays are not so nice when you have work the next day :(

  • Good morning and happy Monday 🧁🍁🎃
    No work, woohoo!
I don’t think it will be an NSD today as I have something to post and I also have a £5 off if spend £25 voucher for Ldl that I’d like to get some Christmas bits with (food bits to put away). I do need to get a grip of spending as I’ve fallen into the frittering trap. Yesterday I went to make toasted sandwiches and the sandwich maker (which hasn’t been used for a long time) was all blooming and mouldy looking. I couldn’t save it, so immediately ordered a replacement. It was the deep dish one with removable plates and, although it was a good £40 cheaper than when I got the original, it was still £33 I really didn’t need to spend! If I want to save anything at all and stop treading water, or even worse go backwards, then I must get a grip!
I am expecting to pay for the Ldl spend, a fuel top up (should be under £50) and one meal out this week, then I need to make absolutely sure I don’t spend anything outside the dd’s until the end of the month.
I am holding fast and haven’t replaced the room lamps yet, so that’s something.
I think part of my trouble is that I’m so far from everyone there isn’t much to do and I do have trouble finding joy in the small things. MrWW isn’t much into doing things, he’s happy to potter in the garden chopping trees or playing his game when the weathers bad and I just want to bounce off the walls. I did suggest the cinema this week, but he is pondering the size of the rooms (very small) and the amount of people against any covid risk…sigh!
Anyhow, that was a moany post for a day off Monday wasn’t it? I hope I haven’t brought anyone down (but if I have, feel free to join me in the sulky corner) 😬. I hope you all have marvellous Monday’s filled with wonderful things ☕️📚🍰🍫

you’re entitled to have a moan. As much as I’d like to live remotely, I like a streetlight and being able to walk into our, large two co ops and a small Sainsbugs, village. We have quite a lot of stuff going on, should anyone wish to, you could keep occupied all week.

chin (s) up, Ma Larkin 😀 enjoy your week off

Thanks @carolbee (goes off to count chins..)
we do have street lights, but no shops or anything. Pre covid there were various very small events (flower show, Christmas light switch on, dance, etc.) at the village hall, that we never knew were happening until the day of the event when suddenly there were 30 cars parked up the road 🤣. I’m not sure if it’s just cliquey or if they aren’t very good at advertising.
We are going into town today to cross off some of the list, so I have straightened my rather wild long hair in anticipation of being out, out! It can be curly or straight, but left to its own devices it’s more crystal tips meets dulux dog 😬
