I like the sound of a weekly "not spent" pot.  Wish I could do that. I took my monthly spends early as I'd run out of money and now on tight budget for the rest of the month although I do have a planned meet with a friend I've not seen for 18months next week. Meal and drinks so that will probably be a large chunk of monthly spends gone.  the only thing I manage to do and even not very successfully is the "Tilly Tidy" from my Monzo account. Rounding down the figures to 0 on each pot. I managed £12.27 last month :)

I love arts and crafts, I'm just too lazy to do anything. the amount of cross stitch things I've started and abandoned, colouring books bought and and never touched.  The only thing I ever got really far with was the family tree but then the kids came along and scuppered any spare time or spare money.  Hobbies; in my experience aren't cheap!

Hope you are still enjoying your week off.

I was the same with the sewing machine. It took so long to learn to thread it and I was terrified to begin, so it got stuffed in a cupboard for about 4 years. Then I stumbled across the beginner quilt demo and I had a go at a tiny one and got such a sense of achievement. I’m not sure I really enjoy any step in the process, but I do feel proud of the end result 😬 Cross stitch really does take such a lot of effort....and if it’s not in a card, what do you do with it when you’ve finished? I’ve done a few, but not for a long time.
A small money win today...the pre order book was £3.99, not £6.99. I rounded it up to 10 and put the difference in my weekly spends ‘not spent’ pot!
I hope everyone has a very happy Tuesday 🍫
Would love to learn how to quilt but i have no space to leave a sewing machine out so fear it would be shoved in a cupboard.  I used to love cross stitching but have one i started before I met Mr BB50 and we have been together 15 years!  maybe I ought to dig it out and finish it.  Well done on rounding up the £10 you are better than me I would have done £5.  I use my Monza card as my weekly spending card and it rounds up spends and deposits in a seperate account but i keep raiding it.
Please tell me it not Tuesday - the bank holiday has made this week drag so much already! 😂😂

    Enjoy your day xx
  • I have a sewing machine that I've had for 5 years and have never really used. I did a 2 hour sewing course shortly after I got it, then made 1 stuffed animal and never used it again. Hoping to pick it up eventually when the littlest is a little less demanding!

I set mine up on the dining room table and put it in its case in a corner when I finish (so the cats don’t knock it off). I’ve just self taught via you tube, there is so much information on there! I recommend Melanie Hamm for the easiest starter tutorials.
I agree about the week dragging, it’s awful as I don’t want to waste my annual leave, but there’s  not much open and the weather is grim. On work days I’m counting the hours to finish the day and to the weekend, but now I’m offi don’t really know what to do with myself. It all feels a bit grim and joyless right now 🙄

Afternoon.  Just repaying the visit and have spent the afternoon reading your diary.

We also lave labs (10, 9 and 7). We used to spend a fortune on their food but after being off sick last year we swapped them to t@sco own. They aren't fussy and scoff the lot but it isn't helping with their weight issues. Our girl is now struggling with her back legs due to arthritis so think they may have to go on a diet as the extra weight can't be helping.
Our 2 year old toy poodle is the fussiest dog I know and has turned his nose up at so many foods, probably spend more on his food than the other 3 together.

Well done on the better mortgage deal, I think we need to look at ours next year.

Enjoy your day off, although I'm sure it would be a lot better if the weather wasn't so rubbish.

Hi @charlies_tribe it’s lovely to see you 👋.
Our Lab will be 11 in September. She’s always been chunky with a large solid ribcage. She’s fussy about her biscuits, she gets the breed specific ones for weight control, but she won’t eat them without a scattering of wet meat on top! She has a lot less than the recommended amount, but then has eleventybillion treats, anything she can snaffle off the cats and then drools over our feet when we eat anything. It’s so hard to stop...I know the issue is mine as much as hers. I love her so much, it’s hard to be cruel to be kind! Yesterday she ate her body weight in grass outside without being spotted, so at 5am barfed it all up and then asked to go out...so I had nightshirt, jeans, big coat and boots on while we wandered around the garden 🤣

Well we went out and I feel a lot happier for a blustery walk on the beach. I drive to a beach where I can park easily and dog can walk down from the car. She had a run and a skip and then said that’s enough thank you and headed back to her car 😁 MrWW was annoyed with everything, but also perked up after some fresh air and an Indian takeaway. I was going to buy the takeaway, but he said he would, so although not an NSD it was just the £3.99 kindle. That was a win. If I get through tomorrow that’s a whole week on £3.99...unheard of!

Sounds lovely.  We have to drive an hour to the dog friendly beach but is worth it for a lovely day out.

That’s a shame, they are all dog friendly up here.
