A couple of years ago I had to pay £500 for my cat to have her teeth cleaned so nothing vet price related shocks me.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)3

I'm always good for a moan about vet prices too. I'm glad your furry friend seems better though and I agree with Carol that your furry pal is worth it.. Even the cat had her paws crossed here yesterday.4

Have just binge read your diary! Thank you to whoever mentioned magazines on the kindle app...I never knew! Very handy.
I don't drink coffee, can't eat biscuits (coeliac) and haven't been able to eat chocolate (gallstones) for over 6 months. Had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and tried a bit of chocolate for the first time but couldn't bear it, too sweet! I'm a disgrace.
I have however started an appliqué quilt top whilst I've been recovering so I'm all here for the quilting stuff (I'm another "that'll do" quilter who doesn't really have a clue but gives it a go anyway.
Hope the hound is recovering well, one of our cats had a few episodes like that, one of them sending him blind for the day but then he was back to hunting the next day and went on for another 3 years.3 -
Welcome @Jellytotts, it’s lovely to see you here. You can still be in our club…despite your disgraceful eating habits 🤣 What are your guilty eating pleasures?
ooh appliqué….that looks so tricky! I love the YouTube guides on all things quilting. I’d really love to do free motion, but my practice attempts are dire (and we won’t even mention when I thought I’d broken my machine, just because I didn’t know you’d to do a stitch to bring the feed dogs back up 😬).Dog seems ok, she’s 11 tomorrow and rather portly so I know that doesn’t help 😕 She still wanted to play at lunchtime. Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

No guilty eating pleasures at the moment, I went right off food when I was poorly and the desire hasn't come back. But it has left me nearly 3 stone lighter so I can't really complain.
I'd love to be able to enjoy cheese again, I'm hoping that a oozy baked Camembert might tempt me back into the land of deliciousness but need to wait a few months yet for that much fat (without a gallbladder you have trouble processing fatty stuff resulting in a very mad dash to the loo) lovely!
I've never tried freemotion quilting, I'm all for a nice straight(ish) line (that's easier to unpick if it all goes a bit belly up). I've got loads of EPP (English paper piecing) quilt tops that I've sewn together by hand but never get round to doing the quilting bit before starting something else....this is the year(or 5) that I get round to finishing them all (maybe).2 -
I go for vaguely straight lines and don’t start a new top until I’ve quilted the whole thing. Even the batting and backing material is extortionate…I could buy half a dozen good ones for the price of a dodgy home made one…but where’s the fun in that 🤣

WinterWarrior - glad pooch seems to be feeling better.
Another quilter here, without much money. I use sheets, fleeces etc to back my quilts as none are for competitions and the family don't complain, I always buy proper wadding though.

Good morning and happy Friday 🍫📚☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️The main dd’s have gone out now, so it’s back to the looking poor stage until the end of the month 🙄
My weekly spend resets tomorrow, so I will try not to spend anything today.
I’ll be so glad when work is over and I can enjoy the weekend…not that I have any plans! I should be doing all good things like scrubbing the kitchen, but who knows 😬 I’m considering eBaying my card making stash as I haven’t used it for a good long while and it’s taking up a lot of room…but it might be more trouble than it’s worth.
I hope you all have wonderful Fridays full of all good things ⭐️🌺☕️Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien
