Hahah! It’s okay. Yeah I get that completely. But would you be happy driving about with a big hole in a white car which is still relatively new?dipsomaniac said:Sorry for the rant but you really shouldn't be so precious about your bumpers0 -
My bumpers been hit 4 times and has bounced back every time. well it is on finance and I am looking to possibly get rid in 18 months. I may potentially keep it - not made my mind up entirely
Entirely likely it'll be cheaper to pay the finance company than get it fixed.0 -
What is your insurance excess?
Surely that is what you have insurance for. A professional and warrantied repair, a courtesy car while yours is being repaired (possibly 2-3 days) and peace of mind.
As it is a no fault accident it should not have any effect on your NCB or your premiums later on.0 -

and I was under the impression that any claim makes your insurance go up. But I don’t know by how much. Like obviously you’ll have to pay the excess and whatever other hidden costs. But I guess the yearly quotes would be much much higher then for a few year?
and I have 3 years no claims0 -
If it goes back to the financier at the end of the term, they'll charge you for that.Arsenal2019 said:

They'll probably charge you less than a bodyshop would to fix it.1 -
Oh right. Do you think? Body shops said that evans halshaw would charge an arm and a leg. Although they may just be saying that to get my custom. If that was the case, I’ll definitely have it fixed prior to returning the car to them.AdrianC said:

I did speak to them (my local Ford Evan halshaw) briefly today though and they just directed me to garages / body repairs they use as they don’t have that facility at that particular garage
I’ll give other Evan halshaw’s nearby a ring to see if they have that facility. However, I do remember that when I was asking for a quote for the last time my car got hit, they wanted me to pay for a quote and that would be knocked off the price0 -
Ah, you didn't say that earlier. In which case it's best to get it done properly else you may take a hit when it comes to handing the car back if the finance co see if it's been a substandard repair.Arsenal2019 said:
