Morning all. It was like living at the seaside this morning - a lovely sunrise at 6.30, followed shortly by a temperature inversion, with thick mist rolling in that didn't clear until after 8.00.
Enormous (((hugs))) to dancemum . It must be so hard to have the decisions taken out of your hands xx
Special (((hugs)) also to kazwookie and OH. I hope the results of the further tests will show that there is nothing to worry about xx
And more (((hugs))) to YL, HB, Natty, asb, Fayolle and Squeak.
Enjoy your bargains, Valli!
Thanks for good advice: in future I shall not waste my energy trying to break up the WM tablets.
Yesterday I tidied, hoovered and dusted upstairs, HSL and bits of the utility, and weeded the raised bed, as planned.
This morning I have
- S&S'd bathroom
- emptied DW
- tidied and S&S'd kitchen
- juggled money
- let in the lawn men, who have aerated, scarified and seeded my little bit of grass (I'm definitely in line to invite picnickers, as per Buck House!)
- crammed the rubbish which they had bagged up for me into the green garden bin (which should be emptied later today) and gave them back their black bags
- changed DH's compression stocking
- fussed Rosie because she didn't bark at the lawn men
I'm now going to make an early coffee and go outside and try to clear some more rubbish off the front garden and down the side of the drive before the bin men turn up
Then I've got emails/texts to write, some of my clothes purchases to return and a Ruby Wedding card to buy and post. This afternoon I'm planning to plant peas, beans and rooted geranium cuttings.

Kaz.. That does sound concerning.. can you press them for more information? they shouldn't leave you wondering like this. That is what I am doing with ebeast .. I have had 2 data breaches from Netflix in the last year and 1 with another company so I am NOT very trusting. Postie just this second turned up with the activation codes so I can get that up and running next
I have kept Squeak home today. Twinkle was a toad and kicked and screamed her way into school today. She battled everything so they were all late for school.. She took off her shoes and the new head unlocked the doors to get the other 2 in and called the reception staff to come get Twinkle.. and she did not stop screaming.. Joy!!
Squeak is laid upstairs in bed. I don't know if it is school or the high school situation or her glasses or actual illness. I will get her in to opticians and have her glasses checked due to the headaches, it doesn't hurt to check these things. If it continues I will run her to the quack IF we can get her seen.. I was going to try to get an appointment for me this week but I do not have the mental capacity to do that this week.
Moomins bed just arived with no warning.. then her new duvet cover which I reported 'missing' yesterday.. coincidence that!.. Then the postie turned up with a bunch of bits Twinkle needed (OH was paid on Friday can you tell??) I still need Twinkle new shoes but definitely not going today after this mornings behaviour that would feel like a reward. I might do that at the weekend.
My bedding all changed and clean so both washers are on and the next load is ready to go in.
I'm not sure what to do next.. I need a carpet fitter ASAP.. unless I do it but I'm not sure I can do the lifting with my shoulder and hip it will be difficult.. but I have a fire place to paint...

bank sorted, ebeast sorted.. I have 3 parcels to get ready to post..
I am really in a tizz about this carpet... what do I do??!!To do the carpet ...- dismantle Pixies bed.
- Dismantle Moomins bed
- rebuild moomins bed in Pixies room..
- Put drawers from Moomins room... elsewhere..
- Clear dressing table and move to the bathroom.
- rip up old carpet and underlay.. put straight in the car..
- Send OH to the tip.. to bin the carpets, not himself!
- vacuum ...
- Fit underlay.. then carpet.. or get someone else to do it.
I think this is a weekend dance so I will clear space in the middle room and jiggle things in there.. I have lots I can bin from in there.. yes.. do that...

One border is tidy and my green garden bin is full
Rosie lay outside with me, enjoying the sunshine, and didn't even bark at the neighbour when he collected his black bin from outside my house *and* stopped to talk to me (miracles will never cease!).8 -
From what little I know of it it's a sad situation Dancemum and it does sound as though grieving is appropriate. (((Hugs))) I hope you OH's health situation is sorted out very quickly, Kazwookie.Washed my hair this morning to see if that will help the front, the back's too short and I can't do anything about that except wait. I've decided I'm going to take responsibility for ensuring that the hairdresser has the photographs of the wonderful haircut she did the second time in her new salon rather than leave it up to her to find them. If she still messes it up again then that's it, I can use another hairdresser without saying anything. Sadly I know she's not someone that I can have a straightforward conversation with. She's the relatively new wife of a friend I've known for nearly 30 years, one of 'the gang' when we were all single. I like her but she has a tendency to be unhappy if anyone disagrees with her, and a habit of whinging about people. Least said soonest mended, I think. Another of the gang has sent me an incredibly imaginative birthday present which arrived today and made me laugh - it's around now but not today, so I feel buoyed up by the old gang just the same as always and I don't want to mess with that.Higgs, the large black cat, has taken to sleeping on top of the stuff due to go to the scrapstore. He looks very comfortable there, so now Belovéd doesn't want it moved at all. As far as I'm concerned it's flingage so it will be leaving the house the next time I do. Which admittedly isn't very often these days.More computery stuff to do today and then I might have time for dusting.Better is good enough.10

Hello all.
Today I have done first work shift, walked dogs, done dailies, sorted paperwork, applied for a job for DH and potted on 24 petunias. Oh and hoovered through.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
2 loads of washing folded,1 lot out on the line.. second lot just finished so I will do that after my cuppa.lunch snaffled.
DW on.. needs another run or 2 to clear the sides though.1 ebeast parcel done.. then I had to hunt down some posting bags.. I appear to have very few left!!!
I need to speak tables to my mother.. and throw out some things.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)7 -
Taken advantage of the nice weather and have cleaned the car and the hutch and the run and the little-hutch-that-lives-in-the-run and moved the run but placed part of an old fireguard over the bit where they routinely dig - not least because I'm forever stumbling into the blimmin' holes while I'm putting them to bed - and swearing.
I offered to help my friends who are not well - they've asked me to garden. Texted today to say I will go round and got a terse reply saying to go before 3 so I can be told what to do - no please, thank you, or similar pleasantry. While I get that they are ill (and in pain) I think that's rude. I won't say anything this time...
Ironically they had me weeding...got loads to do here, actually. It can wait though.
I have emptied the hamper and put it up onto the wardrobe.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

The rest of the parcels are ready to go.. OH is being sent in a minute with those.. he isn't yet aware of that.I have another small pile to list. I found things in the 'put away for Twinkle' pile which are likely now too small.. 3 things for her to try on.. or I just decided we don't need them any more. So I emptied half a box.. and found some bits to gift.. I need some room I'm hoping to dig my way down to a specific box and relist what is in it and then put the currently listed stuff in too.. that will clear a tiny bit of space. I am hating my house right now. I just want someone to help me and no one is.
OH is going by himself to get the 3 girls.. I will fling here.
right.. messaging my mother.. always takes F*O*R*E*V*E*R..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)9 -
