has anybody had the replacement from this ebay guy? and does it work??0

I can't see how a replacement can be any better. Its the software that's at fault and Logitech haven't come up with an upgrade. Is he offering an alternative product?0

I've gone for the refund aswell, seeing as how not oe of us actually got it to work as it should I don't hold out any hope of a replacement being different.Sigless0

OK, last attempt before sending mine back too!
After banging my head against a wall with Logitech...i've finally got them to understand the problem, i think. Havent tried this yet, but if anyone wants to have a go today while i'm at work......Remove Setpoint 1.05 and 2.22 if you've got it installed, highlight and delete any HID compliant mouse/keyboard from device manager, unplug the hub, remove batteries from mouse to break the connection etc........Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Logitech MX900 Bluetooth Optical Mouse.
I understand after installing the Logitech SetPoint software, your Windows Bluetooth is not detecting the Logitech MX900 as a bluetooth device.
The Logitech SetPoint 2.22 software is a dual install software. It contains the Logitech SetPoint software which detects the Logitech mouse and allows custom configuration. Logitech SetPoint 2.22 software also contains the Widcomm Bluetooth software which enables the Logitech bluetooth hub to work in a bluetooth mode.
Since only one bluetooth stack can be properly configured on a system at a time, when installing the Logitech SetPoint software, the included Widcomm bluetooth software will detect the Microsoft bluetooth software on your system and abort the Widcomm Bluetooth installation. Unfortunately, the Microsoft bluetooth software will not configure a Logitech bluetooth hub, therefore no bluetooth devices will be detected on the system.
To enable the Logitech bluetooth hub, you must first remove any Microsoft bluetooth software from the system, then reinstall the Logitech SetPoint software to include the Widcomm Bluetooth software.
Please remove the following files to disable the Microsoft bluetooth installation:
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHUSB.SYS
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHPORT.SYS
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHENUM.SYS
After the files are deleted, reboot, plug in the Bluetooth Hub and re-install the SetPoint software.
If the problem persists, go to add/remove programs in the control panel and remove Hotfix 323183
(i'd cut and paste those files above into a temporary folder in case you want to put them back afterwards if it doesn't work.....)0 -
Just out of interest but may be help to some of you, I did not buy the mouse or even have one. I have no Bluetooth device and never have had one.
I did a search of my drive for the files listed below and they do not exist, I guess unless you have installed some bluetooth device they will not be on your system either.
I am running XP Pro SP1a with most updates insalled. (not SP2)
Hope this helps a little, I have been following this thread from the start for reference.C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHUSB.SYS
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHPORT.SYS
C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\BTHENUM.SYS0 -
I did a search for these files aswell and there not there, I have SP2 and have been trying to install a bluetooth device (the mouse, obviously lol)
Would be interested to know if the advice logitech gave you worked??Sigless0 -
No it didn't. I have those files from a previous device, but i haven't deleted them even now.......but it is working now that i installed Setpoint 1.05 under clean boot.
Bit fiddly because the Setpoint splash screen covers the "Found New Hardware" box, so you can't get to it to press "Next", and because the bluetooth mouse isn't installed yet, you can't click on anything !!
Another mouse connected did the trick.
From there i installed Setpoint 2.22 over the top and it seems fine. It still trys to connect a keyboard on each reboot, but a quick cancel solves that.
All features work fine, i can transfer, search, sms from the computer and it automatically sends through the phone etc....
(ps, have just had another email from logitech advising to use Setpoint 1.05 to detect the hub as well. This seems to be the only route to get it detected)0 -
I got that far aswell, but it annoys me having to cancel the 'connecting keyboard' after whenever I turn the damn thing on so I uninstall. Don't even have to clean boot when installing 1.05 to get it to work. maybe I should buy the dinovo keyboard.Sigless0

I've decided to send mine back. Rebooted today and it won't connect the mouse, every time i press "connect" the damn keyboard thing appears. Had enough of it now.0
