Mine turned up from the Ebay guy, also OEM but brand new. Got software from Logitech.
The mouse works fine as a HID mouse, but i'll be darned if i can get the bluetooth hub working as intended. Spent about 5 hours on it so far.
Tried 3 pc's so far (a laptop, an XPSP1 and an XPSP2) and none recognise it as a bluetooth radio when connected. Setpoint installation software tells me theres no bluetooth adapter connected so just skips that part of the install. Frustrated...

I sent an email to the guy and also contacted Logitech support regarding this and still couldn't get the bluetooth working.
So contacted the ebay seller again and got this email:

    "Hello

    Thanks for this.

We have now confirmed there IS a problem with Logitech's drivers
under WindowsXP SP2 which is causing the hub not to be recognised
    - Logitech say they are waiting for Microsoft to release developer
details for SP3 (due out this month or early next) before updating
    their drivers.

If you haven't installed SP2, then the current drivers work fine.

In the meantime, Logitech say the hub will act as a BlueTooth receiver
for your mouse to work properly until the next drivers are released.

We'll email all purchasers of these mice as soon as the new drivers
    are released.

    With best regards"

So it seems Logitech drivers are not compatible with XP SP2, because I think SP2 installs the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack as default and you cannot have two BT stacks installed on one computer, Logitech's Widecomm BT stack fails to install because of this.

Great...i'm not sure if this is better than having dud units.
Usually if the manufacturers drivers are not compatible, XP SP2 will use it's own BT stack to give you at least reduced functionality, but these things are completely invisible. They're basically just optical mice with shorter battery life then.

Can't imagine Logitech being quick off the mark to replace drivers when they haven't even got SP3 developer tools yet, Belkin said a similar thing about their dongles last year and then just discontinued the product (which is why i checked these MX900 drivers are BT 1.2 compatible...). I guess they're only compatible if the machine can see the bleedin device though

I've emailed Logitech to see if there's a workaround, but you have to dig quite deeply in their site to find their detailed Bluetooth advice (none of which has worked for me) which is also way beyond what people should doing with a product straight out of the box.

damn, that is bad news. So we end up with a wiresless mouse for 29.99. Great.

I think the eBay guy should have pointed the fact out that there is a prob with sp2.

Got an update from the Ebay seller to try and fix this problem of the hub not being recognised....didnt work for me though :(
    Anybody else had luck?

"Run the uninstaller for Logitech's Setpoint software, and then restart your PC
in 'Clean Boot' mode before re-installing v2.22 of Setpoint.
This avoids a conflict with InstallShield which appears to be causing the issue,
and has so far worked in two other situations. "

thanks, will give it a try after work. Not entirely sure what clean boot mode is, is that safe mode during start up?

    regards

I got one from ebay and can't get the bluetooth instal, I got this reply from logitech

Thank you for contacting Logitech's Electronic Technical Support.

I am sorry for the issue you are experiencing. I understand that you are not able to install the Bluetooth only software for your Logitech Bluetooth hub. You have mentioned that you are getting an error message stating that the Bluetooth device is not connected.

You may be experiencing this issue as the Bluetooth hub may not be detected properly by your system. To resolve the issue, I suggest you to try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Uninstall the hub from your system using the following steps:

    a. Go to Start | Settings | Control Panel | System | Hardware tab | Device Manager,
    b. Uninstall the hub by right clicking on it and selecting remove.
    c. Unplug the hub from your system and restart your system.

After the system has restarted, plug in the hub and test whether the mouse is working on your system. If the mouse does not work then press the connect button on the mouse and then the connect button on the hub.

The hub should now be detected by the system. Once the hub has been detected, try installing the SetPoint 1.05 software

If the issue persists, please try using the hub on a different USB port to verify that the issue is not related to the port you are connecting the hub to. I also suggest you to make sure that you are connecting the hub directly to the system and not through any pass-through device.

If the issue persists, please try using the hub on a different system and check whether you are able to install the software and write back to me with results.

If you have any additional questions regarding your product, please feel free to visit our website at http://www.logitech.com

I imagine we've all tried this with no luck.
