Thanks eskbanker and PRAISETHESUN.
PRAISETHESUN are you saying, keep receipts/ contracts all ready to show the bank/ transferwise.
This way should they freeze/make the account inactive and should they require proof to look into them, then these can be handed to them to do their due dilliegence for them to release the funds at a later stage.
That is one action that can be taken = keep receipts/ contracts ready to show them if needed.
Can you name some other actions that can be taken to prevent funds being frozen.
___________
cheers everyone

US banking is in the main backward and fragmented. Have you confirmed that the sender will be using a "bank Transfer" to effect payment.0

Yes, that's correct. They dealt me a rubbish rate, and stuck on a fixed fee on top of that for the pleasure of dealing with my transfer. It was my mistake, I had always allowed my US broker to do the conversion (~0.5%) and send over UKP - but I fumbled the transfer and wired US$ by mistake.maxximus75 said:I think the reference was regarding to not getting a favourable conversation rate from USD to GBP by his bank - and the term "Getting shafted" hence, not being able to sit down!
I use Wise now, send the US$ to Wise (no fee), then use them to do the conversion. For what it is worth, I do not personally know anyone who has had a bad experience with Wise, but I do know many happy users (including me!).I’m a Forum Senior Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & Investments, Budgeting & Bank Accounts, and Techie Stuff boards. There's many regional banks across the US. Not just the large household international names that we know in London.0
