Same, mine went to security last year as well, submitted 6th Apr and was issued around 10th may. 

Did you have to provide any additional information when it went for security checks? Do they notify you?

No, last year was my first year so I assumed it was because of that, I wasn’t notified but I did call HMRC a few times after the 10 days and was told it had gone to security. It does stay that the refund could take up to 4 weeks so they don’t like to speak to anyone about it until after that date

Mines the exact same. Do HMRC class weekends as working days, also bank holidays? If so mines well over 10 days.

I doubt they class them as working day tbh .I'm guessing they may be having additional checks on their end
