Electric car charging

Does anyone know if you can get a charging point fitted (on a pole type thing), in your designated parking space in a car park outside your home?
Thanks

Yes is the simple answer. But, you really want the cable from your house to the space. Who owns this land, how far is it? Is it soft dig or paved? then who owns the parking space.

If the power has to come from another source then it’s more complicated. Say a street light circuit.

Yeah I don't want the wire.. That's the problem.. Would want it underground. We own the space. But not the spaces between the house and the space.. So yeah.. Prob wouldn't be able to dig up it all up.

If the parking space is next to the road, you could get the electricity company to run a new supply in from the street to a supply pillar at the back of the parking space.
But you would have to pay all the costs involved.  And you would have a second electricity meter, with its own standing charges.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

    Not bought anything yet.
But if they want people to move to electric cars, they're going to need to think about this kinda thing. Not everyone has a drive.

It's just a fashion. Even once everyone is driving electric, they will still want you to buy a brand new car every 3 years which in itself is not very environmentally friendly.

If you've got charging at work or your local supermarket or train station, then you may not need to charge at home anyway and it may still be cost effective even if it's not as convenient.
    Where are your nearest chargers?

At present the EV charging network is both patchy and unreliable. I investigated the possibility, but there are too few chargers to make this anything else but a chore if you can't charge at home. It's feasible to run a Tesla because of the extensive supercharger network, assuming you can afford one.
