But no glitches between 00:00 and 07:30

Yes agree, just weird why it still comes on.. that's why i left mine as the programmer turns on and off and the Nest purely does the temp s i can effectively adjust it during the on times. This way, even if Nest wants to turn heat on outside of hours, the programmer wont let it so Nest will show heat on but in reality it isn't, which I do prefer to some degree but also agree Nest should be able to stick to fixed schedules and not do what it wants to
- Looking online, it seems a new programmer (identical) to what I have is going to be approx. £100, have seem one about half the price but as most places are approx. £100, I'm bit sceptical of the half price one.
- Getting a blanking plate and the loop connector (assuming only need 1 connector) will be approx. £30
On one hand, its cheaper to go blank plate and connector and remove the programmer in boiler but if Nest continues to do what it wants, it may end up costing me more in the long run as opposed to paying £100 for a identical programmer and then having it as it was knowing Nest can't turn on heat unless programmer turns it on, which given the energy price rises and potential rise again in October, it maybe the better option, decisions decisions
Boiler so far hasn't cost me a thing apart from annual service charge as I get it services/checked each year so can't complain too much, this is first issue it has had in just over 6 years and I recall that most companies only repair them up to 7 years. However, I believe you can still get parts for a lot longer, I guess it just a case of weighing up is it worth paying for the repair vs cost of new boiler and how frequently it goes wrong.

Or, disconnect the Logic, fit a loop connector, and reposition the disconnected Logic to fill the hole = £15 (still silly for that wee connector!)Totally understand your frustration, and you should do what you believe is the best solution for you.All I can suggest is what I would do - completely by-pass the Logic, and then tackle the Nest. Every weird thing it does (and at least it's good enough to 'fess up via the history thingy!) I would then ask about from Nest themselves, or whatever the best source could be.

Many thanks, appreciate the help and advise, will get back to you when I decide on how to proceed. Probably be a couple of weeks or so.
Thanks again!

Similar reports on Nest forum - nothing very conclusive as a fix - True Radiant seems to get blame most of the time

Just discovered something new (to me) about the Energy display - which explains why those scheduled temperature set points are moving about and not aligned on that chart -
I had assumed they would just be your schedule points for reference
If you hover over the circle you bring up a message indicating why/when it turned on
Quite why on Thursday it needed to start @ 17:48 to raise temp by 0.5 deg by 19:00 ??
The True Radiant 1hour (limit I have set) - doesn't seem to affect the pre-heating during the day
But clicking on the 1st of the day 19.5 spot - you can see the effect of True Radiant
I can see it staring early to archive temp by scheduled 07:30 - and that is never more than 1 hour prior as per my TR 1 hour setting

Nests sound like a joke; they should start selling them with a clown face painted on 🤡0 -
Just been looking at the option of removing the programmer and adding the loop in and blanking plate, however, I cannot find any instructions for removing the programmer and adding the timer loop.
The model of programmer I have looks identical to this: Ideal Logic Electronic Timer 7 Day Digital 204545 and it seems it has 2 cables with connectors that go in top left and top right so I wanted to find a manual that advised where to place the timer loop connector and also one to show how to fit the blanking plate, if not obvious but no such luck so far.
Anyone know where i can find a install guide? I tried only and ideal but nearest I found is for a RF timer/receiver which isn't what I have.
Boiler is logic combi 24
Thanks

I did manage to find a 'link' on eBay - I'll see if I can track it down. Also a blanking plate - I'd have to search againIn essence, it'll be the same as the wireless (although that had only one cable?), and you'll know that it's working right away. Ie, if you fully disconnect both Logic cables, and fit the link in the top-LH corner, your Nest should work and control your boiler as intended.Alternatively, if you move quickly... https://www.warmsafeplumbingandheating.co.uk/product/ideal-204545-logic-7-day-electronic-timer-kit/But, what's the point, when it should be set to 'CONST ON'.Personally, I'd do one of two things - the first is I'd set the Logic to CONST ON, and - unless the Logic is badly faulty inside - this should do the job. If it does, then great. If it doesn't, then what I would do - but I'm not suggesting you do - is to remove both plugs, and 'loop' the LH one and replug it on its own. But I'm NOT suggesting you do this. When you set the Logic to CONST ON, does your Nest work to control the boiler? If so, I'd stop there (for now at least), and just focus on working out the foibles of the Nest.

Blimey, a scarcity of info out there!Kev, I'd drop Ideal an email - they are usually very good at helping.Explain your 204545 timer has gone kaput, but that you don't need it anyway as you've had a Nest installed. Ask what needs doing in order for the timer to be disconnected and bypassed.0
