Money Moral Dilemma: Is it 'morally wrong' to use student discounts aged 55?

Sounds to me like your overly entitled son may well begrudge you claiming your state pension later on. Maybe needs a little ‘tough love’0

I was a member of staff at a University and we were able to get Student discount cards to use for student prices, offers and such. It's totally fine.0

Your son sounds a sanctimonious prig who has plenty of growing up to do. Ask him who is being penalised if you use a student discount (as you're entitled to do).Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1

Let me guess, he doesn’t have a profile on your Netflix? You’re as entitled as he is. Don’t forget free snack at kfc with the app for a £3 spend and 10% off at the coop with totem 😜0

You are both students regardless of your age or if the course is full or part time, so why shouldn’t you access the student discounts available to you.0

Your son is jealous. You are a student. Take advantage of the freebies and discounts.
If you live in London, in 5 years time you will get free travel. Check out what other goodies you can get via Age too.
Enjoy 😉0 -
Your son is being ageist.0

Quite simply its not wrong, it would be discriminatory if you couldn't get it, tell your son to grow up and be proud of you.1
-
No it is not. As previously stated, it is a carrot to get custom. If your son is so sniffy about it, tell him that if you have to pay full price this will affect your finances so you'd have to increase his rent - assuming he makes a contribution, of course? He needs to grow up and focus on sorting himself out and not be so nasty.0

When you graduate you can apply for an Alumni NUS card and that carries on for life, so companies want to keep offering discount for your business.0
