Morning Turtles...
Such a busy day at work yesterday. So glad it is the long bank holiday weekend. Currently, I am having whizz around of the flat. Just taking a little break.
Yesterday's gratitudes and delights
- Got very nearly all my work done. All that really mattered anyway.
- food preparation early in the week
- My homemade Damson Vodka.3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0
Big Renno..£05 -
Bit late but here's my aims for the month ahead:
Debts first: my credit card is 0%, the bill isn't until mid-month but it's all budgeted for, should be able to pay £650.
Income enhancement: have some overtime booked for later this month.
Achievements and Aims: At the moment I'm just glad I made it through March as work was really getting on top of me! My aim this month is to take more time for myself, starting with 10 days off work! Also I need to look into whether I should ask for a referral to OH at work. I've also decided no takeaways this month after reading everyone else's goals. This is something that's crept in over the course of lockdown, I was budgeting £20 a month so will remove it for this month.
Morning motivation: I always start with my physio exercises and that will continue. Also either a walk or a short workout before starting work.
Organised: I always meal plan but the freezer is absolutely out of control so my aim is to use up as much as I can, even if it means some weird dinners! My brain has also been all over the place, I think part of it is stress from work and partly from the painkillers I'm on, so I need to start using my to-do list when I go back to work as that's fallen by the wayside.
NSDs: going for 17.
Determined: determined to get back in the swimming pool when the gym reopens. Take more time for me and get that work/life balance back. Also need to stand up for myself at work more.
Set out your stall: will aim to check in every day!
------------------
Daisies
Delight: so happy to be off until mid-April. Looking forward to seeing a few friends, hopefully some warmer weather (wishful thinking?!), and being able to swim again soon.
April: I love being outside and nature in general so will try and focus on this and enjoying it. Also my house rabbits are so full of happiness and joy, I'm going to try and enjoy them as much as I can!
Inner-peace: I've enjoyed reading again in lockdown so I'd like to continue with this.
Stay safe, and stay sassy! haha always.
Inspiration: will have a think about this one. Am trying to read some different books so that's a start.
Exercise: twice daily physio for my back, I will carry on walking, doing short workouts and pilates, and horse riding.
Share: will do my best. Have a bag ready for the charity shop when it opens.

What a lovely day today. Got up early and had a three mile walk. Not a lot compared to what we used to do but I'm hoping we'll build it up to do between three and five miles most days this month. I bought some low calorie drinks from the local shop on the way back as my stock was getting low so not a NSD.
Had some fruit for breakfast, pineapple and feta cheese salad for lunch and we're having smoked haddock for dinner. I've been getting lots of ideas for nice salad combinations for lunch.
You can tell it's the school holidays. The blonde bombshells have been in and out of the house all day and the trampoline is proving very popular with the neighbourhood children. Apparently their mother has organised an Easter egg hunt for Sunday (in the communal area). That will shatter the peace and quiet but should be fun to watch. It will be socially distanced for adults though. Although the restrictions have been relaxed here we're still trying to be careful.
I did the minimum of household work today (it being a holiday) but the list is ongoing.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
NSD 2 for me.Top 2 floors cleaned and hoovered and the bucket in the loft emptied.3 Loads of laundry done. Mound of clean dry laundry in the kitchen looking at me accusingly. Beds stripped and remade.Lunch was a stew or a leek orzotto with hot crusty bread. Then .... well ..... nothing. The wheels of motivation fell off my chariot of domestic goddessry. Still hoping it will come back, but if not, there is always tomorrow.I made a purchase with The Big River Company, but it was with survey reward vouchers, so a new (knockoff) Hennry H00ver flat brush head thing is winging its way to me. £0 spent.Seemed to get lots knocked off the list, but still have about half way to go.DH is cooking supper tonight (love that man!) the tv is awful- don't get me wrong, I love The Sound of Music as much as the next person, but every Xmas and Easter?? I mean there must be other films about Nuns, surely?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
