IKEA Kitchen and PayPal part refund request

I wonder if anyone knows how to proceed with my problem
I purchased an IKEA kitchen for £2600. I paid an independent fitter £1100 for installation. After fitting it was apparent they had planned an area improperly and when I opened the upper door I couldn't access the cupboard properly and it banged into the extractor fan I'd just had fitted.
I asked IKEA for help but it was ridiculous, they were slow, took an hour every time I called etc. Gave the wrong advice. It took weeks to speak to someone who knew what to do. I waited in twice for failed delivery for missing and damaged parts all day only for no shows.
I raised a claim with PayPal for a part refund of £1300 to allow the rectifications 50% of the cost which I thought was very fair.
I was told to get an independent report on the fault. Eventually I found someone to do the report for £50. The faults were reported and it was also found that there was insufficient space around the fridge freezer also. It wouldn't work properly in summer etc as I couldn't even get skirting board in the gap, and the experienced joiner who did the report suggested either a thinner than normal replacement fridge freezer or an integrated fridge freezer.
This would take it over the amount I requested as I didn't know how serious the tight fit was earlier. I thought I'd just pay the extra when I got the £1300 back.
Well IKEA have not agreed and want the whole fully installed kitchen back for a FULL refund which I didn't ask for. This would obviously just be scrap to them as it's fully fitted. I would then loose the £1100 paid for independent kitchen installer. Also the removal costs would be hundreds presumably. Then pallet shipping.
Since it's been tiled in I can't see it bring viable without the new tiling being removed too. As I said I just wanted to rectify the problems.
I spoke to PayPal thinking that it was a mistake but they said that was what the seller agrees so that I can only get a full refund. I cannot get what I requested as IKEA don't agree.
I was told to raise a charge back with my payment source and they would liaise with the payment provider.
However it was funded by Direct Debit and PayPal balance and I know under the Direct Debit guarantee I can get the direct debit supplied £2200 funds back without any trouble today.
However on a previous small similar situation when I did this on their advice they hit my backup payment card for the payment a few weeks later saying they'd had trouble collecting funds. I forgot about it as it was a small amount but obviously I can't risk that that due to the sums involved and the added complexity. So I know they can do this as a claw back. Obviously IKEA just want to make me give up as the losses fitting costs, of a deinstall and shipping back the assembled units and cut trims etc are unreasonable.

10.3 Whilst we are responsible for ensuring your kitchen will fit if you have used both the IKEA Measurement and Planning Services, if you choose not to do so, you will be responsible for any problems with fit or design.

I understand what your saying with their terms however I think they're in addition to statutory rights etc and their duty of care.
If opening a cupboard door blocks it's access and hits the extractor fan, further limiting it's opening then it's not really to do with measuring up.
My initial complaint didn't include the fridge problem as I wasn't aware of the significance of the shoehorned fridge freezer.
The independent report suggested replacing the cupboard with two bridging units, which have doors that open like a hatchback. I think that would work well.0 -
Put one of these bumper dots on the corner of the extractor hood to stop it scratching the door. Problem solved.

probably a silly question but can you get an extractor unit that doesnt project as much out from.the wall - they have fans in obviously and dont really need to stick out that much ?
ask the kitchen fitter, or google, or for example

I think the two bridging units would be probably similar in cost.0 -

Trust me I would have preferred no issues.
