IKEA Kitchen and PayPal part refund request

I wonder if anyone knows how to proceed with my problem
I purchased an IKEA kitchen for £2600. I paid an independent fitter £1100 for installation. After fitting it was apparent they had planned an area improperly and when I opened the upper door I couldn't access the cupboard properly and it banged into the extractor fan I'd just had fitted.
I asked IKEA for help but it was ridiculous, they were slow, took an hour every time I called etc.  Gave the wrong advice. It took weeks to speak to someone who knew what to do.  I waited in twice for failed delivery for missing and damaged parts all day only for no shows.
I raised a claim with PayPal for a part refund of £1300 to allow the rectifications 50% of the cost which I thought was very fair.
I was told to get an independent report on the fault. Eventually I found someone to do the report for £50. The faults were reported and it was also found that there was insufficient space around the fridge freezer also. It wouldn't work properly in summer etc as I couldn't even get skirting board in the gap, and the experienced joiner who did the report suggested either a thinner than normal replacement fridge freezer or an integrated fridge freezer.
This would take it over the amount I requested as I didn't know how serious the tight fit was earlier. I thought I'd just pay the extra when I got the £1300 back.
Well IKEA have not agreed and want the whole fully installed kitchen back for a FULL refund which I didn't ask for. This would obviously just be scrap to them as it's fully fitted. I would then loose the £1100 paid for independent kitchen installer.  Also the removal costs would be hundreds presumably. Then pallet shipping.
Since it's been tiled in I can't see it bring viable without the new tiling being removed too. As I said I just wanted to rectify the problems.
I spoke to PayPal thinking that it was a mistake but they said that was what the seller agrees so that I can only get a full refund. I cannot get what I requested as IKEA don't agree.
I was told to raise a charge back with my payment source and they would liaise with the payment provider.
However it was funded by Direct Debit and PayPal balance and I know under the Direct Debit guarantee I can get the direct debit supplied £2200 funds back without any trouble today.
However on a previous small similar situation when I did this on their advice they hit my backup  payment card for the payment a few weeks later saying they'd had trouble collecting funds. I forgot about it as it was a small amount but obviously I can't risk that that due to the sums involved and the added complexity. So I know they can do this as a claw back. Obviously IKEA just want to make me give up as the losses fitting costs,  of a deinstall and shipping back the assembled units and cut trims etc are unreasonable.

That's right. It was all planned by IKEA.

Just to confirm, a person from Ikea planned it as part of a planning service, rather than you using the online planning tool? Have you read the terms and conditions for the planning service?

10.3 Whilst we are responsible for ensuring your kitchen will fit if you have used both the IKEA Measurement and Planning Services, if you choose not to do so, you will be responsible for any problems with fit or design.

It was fitted as part of the planning service. They already accepted the errors were theirs and made a few initial suggestions of alternative arrangements.
I understand what your saying with their terms however I  think they're in addition to statutory rights etc and their duty of care.
If opening a cupboard door blocks it's access and hits the extractor fan, further limiting it's opening then it's not really to do with measuring up.
My initial complaint didn't include the fridge problem as I wasn't aware of the significance of the shoehorned fridge freezer.
The independent report suggested replacing the cupboard with two bridging units, which have doors that open like a hatchback. I think that would work well.

Put one of these bumper dots on the corner of the extractor hood to stop it scratching the door. Problem solved.

Thanks for the 'help'. Unfortunately it doesn't address that I can't get into the cupboard as the door opens into my face. As I said I've paid for an independent report which agrees, someone who's a joiner and lecturer with 30 years experience and provides reports regularly. If this would solve the problems I'm certain IKEA wouldn't want to refund £2600 for a pallet of scrap mdf.

probably a silly question but can you get an extractor unit that doesnt project as much out from.the wall - they have fans in obviously and dont really need to stick out that much ?

ask the kitchen fitter, or google, or for example

Thanks for the help. That's a constructive idea. I purchased all new Bosch appliances but I think they do less than 60cm version.  I'd then have a few week old fitted extractor to resell.  But the hinge probably still restricts the door opening.
I think the two bridging units would be probably similar in cost.

Okay I hadn't realised the cupboard was in a poor location. Didn't you notice that on the paper design before it was built?

Unfortunately I couldn't notice on the plan. Their software is awful compared to Howdens and even independent I had quotes. It's low Res and like VHS compared to 4K. It also didn't change perspective on either my iPad or mobile device.
Trust me I would have preferred no issues.
