Gambling issues

I would imagine they might have gone through as they are international payments and so not flagged as gambling to UK card providers, so they bypass the gambling block and that is also the reason for the currency conversion fees, I am guessing Spanish and charged in Euros.
There are always ways around most blocks and restrictions you can put in place, if you want to continue gambling you will likely always find a way to be able to do so. You should either approach gambling charities for help, and/or, if you can afford it it might be a good idea to speak to a therapist.0

And then handing over control of your day to day finances to your OH or a trusted relative - which of course means not keeping this to yourself any longer. Which I suspect is likely where you are right now?MEM62 said:

Talk to the CC co. Explain that this is a gambling co and as such should not be going through.
Will not get you your money back, but may see them take some action going forward.Life in the slow lane0

If you're referring to the "ban" on using credit cards for gambling, that ban is on gambling operators taking credit cards, not on credit card companies allowing gambling transactions.0

Not sure if it's the same for their credit card, but my Barclays debit card has a "merchant control" setting where you can block gambling payments.0

The very first line of the OP's post makes it clear that their issuer doesn't offer this...pinkjune said:Not sure if it's the same for their credit card, but my Barclays debit card has a "merchant control" setting where you can block gambling payments.0
