Hi chaps I’ll try and keep this brief, the co- op bank has no systems for stopping me spending on on-line betting sites, I’m happy with the bank otherwise so I thought I’d cancel my cards with them and then if I get an interest free c/card with another provider are there any that have a “gambling filter” please ? ... is this just too complicated ?

NatWest have a switch in the app to turn off payments to gambling sites, but it would take self-control not to turn access back on.

I know from reading various posts on MSE there's ways to ban yourself from gambling sites, but couldn't say how it is done.

Not perfect but it does restrict the vast majority.

But ultimately you are targeting a symptom here rather than the root cause - if your gambling really is at the point where you cannot control it yourself, are you attending GA meetings (https://www.gamblersanonymous.org.uk/) - if not, please find one close to you and go, today! No amount of systematic controls can prevent a determined gambler from gambling...

Well as this is the credit card section. You have not been able to use a credit card for gambling since April 2020.

I thought the use of credit cards for gambling had been banned, so the sites shouldn't take payment from you even if you try.

I think that, as others have said, if you think your gambling is that much of an issue that you are looking for a system to restrict your spending, then a call to gamblers anon would be a good start. Admitting you have a problem that needs addressing is usually the hardest part too.
