There's a whole army of people who are using Frenchic paint to paint everything from kitchens to upvc to sofas. Looks terrible after one or two coats and needs five or more to look good. But it does look good.
5 coats, are you joking? Who has the stamina for 5 coats [looks for a faint emoji]

I put 10 coats on one of my lounge units, just to get the right finish.

If you're gonna do a job, do it right otherwise all you'll see are the horrible parts.

Not when it's a temporary makeover while saving and I've giant pots to get through 😉
Also gave me the chance of getting into the swing of painting due to not doing it for many years.
After just buying a home there wasn't much left in the pot and I had other priorities at that point.

I did several coats on my front door and it looked terrible, I just didn't realise I was using way too much paint. A rough sand down and 3 very thin coats later of decent and fast-drying paint, and the job was done :)

Did you DIY it, SS? And was it sprayed or brush-painted? Cheers.

What colour did you go for?

No, I didn't do it myself it was a new kitchen & that was the paint they used.
They did paint some bits on site & they used a brush I think, I believe some use rollers ?
Some of it was painted off site so not sure if those bits were sprayed or if they used a brush.
It's a duck egg blue but sorry I can't remember the precise colour name.

I'm in the process of painting my front door, 4 layers on so far and looks a lot better. I do thin layers to build up the paint and avoid runs.

@jeeper@Jeepers_Creepers there are companies who come out and spray the kitchens, not sure how much it costs.

Yup, building up thin coats almost always works best (and essential for Dulux Satinwood which just loves to run...)

What?! Have a tradesperson do the job for me?!! Wash your mouth out... :-)
