Does Straling Debitcard allow you to withdraw GBP in the UK and no fee ??
I just got my Starling debit card replaced. The new debit card seems quite different. It now says “world debit” with Mastercard logo on it (as shown below).
Also from here it seems there shoukd not be any fee.

I have not requested to change my account, so it should be the same with the one I have previously.
I tried to withdraw cash from cash from UK bank cash machines and I said something like “you money get charged to withdraw cash or something like that.
I hardly ever us my Starling debicard to withdraw GBP in the UK as. I mainly used it abroad, to withdraw cash from ATM in foreign currencies.
I wonder, did you get charged using your Starling to withdraw £ using UK Bank ATM in the UK ?
Thanks

Starling will not charge you for withdrawing GBP in the UK.
Some ATMs, however, may, so check the wording on screen about any transaction charges before proceeding.1 -

It is UK bank ATM that I have been using many times for GBP withdrawal using my other UK debitcards, not convenience stores. I just got surprised with the warning like you would have got if you withdrew money using Creditcard from ATM.

Yes, some ATMs still pop up with the same warning for Monzo debit cards as well. Weird.
Starling will not charge you, as long as your account is in credit of course.1 -
I have seen similar warnings with my US$ visa debit card in UK ATMs. My reading is that some ATMs can't figure out for some cards, and therefore warn that your bank may charge. They never have.

I tried today on my Starling card with another Bank ATM, still the same warning about the possible charges.
But I decided to go ahead as there is only one way to find out and learn. Try. If there was a few the fee should be small anyway as I would have expected with other cards.
Withdrew £150 today with my new Starling Debit card and went directly to my Starling App to check the charges. No fee/charges the amount taken out is exactly £150. So, you are right although the fee warning, there is no fee involved.
