God forbid someone put grey in a girls room! How will they cope! 🤦🏼♀️Retireby40 said:
I'm looking for something that is easy to look after (white is not that), something that is pretty neutral and versatile. For example light grey which is what a went for can work for a boys bedroom. Drop of blue in the room, bedclothes etc. Cant work in a girls bedroom with the same in pink. Can work in an adults bedroom.theoretica said:Are you looking for a colour that the most people will be OK with (I would say white or just off white) or something that a smaller number of people will really like and other people dislike?
And generally is acceptable around the rest of the house.
Magnolia in a bedroom of a young kid is horrible. While grey may not be much better for some I think it gives slightly more options.

They are in our house! Everything is a variation on putty/grey/cream with the exception of the bedrooms that the children of the people we bought from used. The boy's bedrooms are a lovely shade of pale blue and the wee girlie's bedroom is a very subtle pink. Actually, it all works rather well and we certainly can't currently be bothered to redecorate.

We always use the same colours and theme throughout in our rentals, white woodwork using quick dry satin (not oil based gloss as that yellows) matt magnolia walls, chrome door furniture, chrome light fittings with white glass shades, chrome light switches and sockets, neutral medium colour carpet and/or Karndean type flooring depending on room, any yellowed plastic fittings like door chime covers or TRVs are replaced or spray painted back where practical to bright white1
