My application to Aldermore went in last Thursday, they did a hard credit check that day and heard nothing since. Hard to know if that's good or bad! My MA said they usually come back asking for relatively random information but she was clear on holding off our application until we had everything - P60s, bank statements, payslips, evidence of gifted deposit, ID, home report (scotland). Both PAYE workers with no gaps in employment, so hoping they just have everything they need.
We are out of our rented house on 11th July as landlord is moving in, no family to move in with so really really nervous of this taking a long time leaving us homeless! If its a no, then at least we can go and find another rental in time (I hope).
Maybe drop your broker an email to see if there's an update I had to chase mine and there was always something everything I asked 🤣

There's been a flurry of activity this afternoon, we've received loads of documents and our contracts are being posted today for us to sign!

Nope, they asked for proof of funds (again) and sent all the fixtures and fittings list etc had to sign and return a mortgage info form. There's still 6 enquiries outstanding so I've emailed ea to see if he can push it 🙂

Hope you don't mind me posting, I have loved reading other peoples experiences.
Our application was submitted on 20.05 and on 27.05 a few extra documents were requested but since then we have heard nothing. I have checked with the estate agent and no valuation is booked yet. Aldermore told our broker they are assessing our additional documents on Monday 7th June.

The wait is awful, I have spent so much time reading the worst cases online and so stressed!! I would love to just know either way now

Gosh thats quite a wait from the 27th May until 7th June for them to look at the documents? What did they request?
I had heard they won't instruct the valuation until they are sure they'd make you an offer, so that will probably be after the 7th I guess. The wait is horrid isn't it.

They only asked for an extra P60 and to check soemthing on a payslip. I thought they were small things and would be looked at sooner. The wait really is the worst

From my experience and from speaking to my broker about other cases they seem to be very quick to say no so any wait, as frustrating as it can be, is seemingly good news. They do seem to have the vast majority of people working from home and this inevitably slows things down.
We went from survey to mortgage offer in under 48 hours so they can move quickly.

If you go on Aldermores intermediary site it says how many working days they take currently to review docs. I found mine were reviewed a lot faster but my broker was slow with updates

I am hoping that no news is good news but the wait is definitely giving me time to think of the worst case scenarios. Fingers crossed it does not take too much longer

Can I please ask how much people tend to do before their mortgage offer. We have paid for our searches just because we do not want to hold things up. We are now at the point of looking at paying for a survey and getting paperwork sent back to our solicitor but I am not sure how much to do before the mortgage offer or if it is better to wait until we hear something from our broker?
