Today is not going as originally planned. I realised there are a lot of things that are annoying me, as in 'I must do that ...' (the Silent To Do List) so I'm tackling some of those smallish jobs so I don't get so irritated by them all. It started off by needing to find a bottle of turps which means turning out the coalhole because the stack of gibble in there has collapsed, and it's going to be the final job I do today if I keep going at the current rate. No point in me writing a To Do List, I never get to the end of it and always feel I should have completed it so it's just depressing. So from today I am just doing all the 5 Minute Jobs when I have the time and energy. So far I've cleaned the bathroom (several 5 Minute Jobs that had piled up) properly from top to bottom, sorted and started three or four loads of laundry because the weather's fine, and the rest of the Annoyances are too minor to mention but are Being Done.I've got yet another dental appointment late this afternoon because something's just not right in the area of the newly crowned tooth. The dentist is exceptionally good - it's my teeth that are really bad.Narco, I love the idea of the digital album and the ones I've seen are amazing, but I love the higgledy piggledy versions I put together when I actually get round to doing them. Thanks for the suggestion though, because if I took better photographs it would defo be worth considering.Piggers, I'm not sure about Charity Shops reopening. Where I volunteer it has been decided that because our volunteers are mostly older that as few as humanly possible to keep the service going are allowed in the building until we've had both vaccination jabs, so that'll be a fair old length of time. Most volunteers in the CS shops are older, so I imagine each individual charity and each shop manager will have to decide on whether it's safe to open each shop. I know the Scrap Store locally is opening on 12 April, and I'm hoping that the local hospice depot will re-open around the same time. If not I'll get in touch with the Cat Protection League because the manager there is always desperate for contributions which I have dropped off at the back door by prior arrangement in the past.Better is good enough.9

Busy day so far.Bedding changed.
Third of four wash loads in machine.
Bedroom dusted.
Vaccination booked for tomorrow.Been to dentist, community fridge, Mr. T and vet to pick up meds.
Did some council work, fed up with office politics.
Feel ripped off that as card shops are not open I had to spend a fiver in Mr. T.Spend less now, work less later.11 -
Thank you HB.. My 2 are younger and I did feel the charity shops would be struggling with staff being older generally. What about those who are not having the jabs? Are they not allowed to volunteer any more?
Jazee.. Post office far cards? They are super cheap in ours so might be an idea for next time.
I have achieved nothing as always.. I will get the WM on later and the DW and dinner done.. I need to do pack ups too. I also need to fix a couple of nails, it's really nice being able to do a few at a time and not have to wait for an appointment.. and so much cheaper!

When I saw today's list (thanks), I asked Mr N if he fancied helping spring clean the lounge completely. Luckily he said yes - lucky because a) he's better at flying than me, much more thorough and b) he's taller.
Level 1
Deal with cut flowers and pot plants - top up water/wipe leaves/remove drooping or dead blooms Plus I re-potted one, fed all of them and also fed all plants in conservatory and kitchen while I was about it.
Empty bins/ashtrays emptied all bins in the house
Clear gibble sorted out a load of magazines; recycled those unwanted and put 'to keep' in a magazine box.
Plump and straighten cushions
Wipe sofas with leather wipes or vacuum - look for all those dust-catching crevices. Lift seat cushions if you can and vacuum underneath
Wipe/dust coffee tables and leave tidy
Level 2
Clean windows and mirrors
Vacuum floors - and use an edging tool to get into all the nooks and crannies - and stairs!
Dust/wipe electricals - use a just-damp cloth. Don't forget the remote controllers!
Level 3
Dust all round - don't forget sills, skirting boards, tops of curtain rails and/or battens and top and frame of door.
Wipe door handles, banisters, light switches and sockets - and the bits of the door where people hold to close it. oh just realised I forgot this
Check for cobwebs and eliminate!
Clean lightshades and lampshades; check all lighting is functioning as it should
Wipe lightbulbs (if cold)
Dust pictures/paintings on walls - and dust behind them too!
Stand in the doorway and look back into the room - is it clean?
Extras
S&s kitchen swept floor as we've been going in and out between garden/conservatory/garage a lot lately.
s&s bathroom

Make sure your census form is to hand ready for Sunday - we don't want any last minute panics!
Fairly pleased with that lot. I've come upstairs to do some on-line course but received an email from uni wanting me to do my first remote assessment in 10 days time. Frantic checking of procedure/resources/'rules' to send to student. emailed manager and 'assessment buddies' with a couple of queries.
Think it must be time for a cuppa before I do the course....
HB my digital albums are very higgledy-piggledy, no pre-formatting in all the same size/in rows etc for me! Plus I like including tickets, maps etc to add interest. Just had an email to say the one I did for Mum is on its way so nail-biting time till I know it is a) ok (it is being directly emailed to her so I won't see if I've done anything silly like put one upside down) and b) if she likes it.
Pigpen I'm about to message you.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
