I'm starting to think we need a Flyzoom. I'm hearing a lot of loneliness and sadness and huge life changes with little support..

I think that’s an excellent idea Piggers.
Big love to you DM.
The potential new school wont let the children look round due to Covid. I understand (ish) but annoyed. Pizza eaten for dinner, laundry done, bed soon x

Enormous (((hugs)) to dancemum xx - PM on its way to you.
It's been a mixed week here. I haven't done everything that I planned to do, but I have managed to cross a couple of big items off my Toots list, the spare bed is clear except for the cushions that belong on it, the study floor is clear apart from two sorted piles of family history papers awaiting recording and filing (there are more on the bookshelves when those are done
), and my desk is much freer of extraneous paperwork than it was a week ago I estimate that I have thrown out almost the equivalent of a ream of paper, and - following HB's example - I have made a good start on sorting computer files, but that is still WIP. Quite pleased with what I have done, and I now have head space to do what needs to be done tomorrow.
Have a good weekend, Flyfriends, and enjoy the signs of spring xx8 -
My apologies, asb, I meant to send enormous (((hugs))) to you too xx8

l-o-o-o-o-n-g day at work but some prep done for Monday. Resisted urge to bop IT tech on nose - i reported laptops which only worked when plugged in (ie battery issue) - he tested - said fine. I tried again - same issue. He confessed he had tried them WHEN THEY WERE STILL PLUGGED IN. New batteries now on order *eye roll*.
Hugs to DM and ASB. I've finished my tea an dthat's it.. vino time.
Zoom sounds interesting...

Yes lots of hugs to you all. DM Mr N was meant to tell the crem within 3 months when he was going to scatter MIL's ashes, but because of the current situation they said not to worry.
A lovely sunny day today, foregone conclusion of course as I had my Zoom student for 2hrs. But managed to write up the summary and send it to her, so that's one less weekend task.
- Spent quite a lot of the afternoon in the garden; seeds growing well generally in the greenhouse. Put 2yr old leaf compost round the rhubarb. Weeded bed currently full of last year's spinach and chard which hasn't stopped growing - maybe I won't sow any new yet. Did lots of Heuchera cuttings as they were getting woody.
- Put away dry clothes.
- decluttered bedroom floor, dressing table and unit. Dusted and polished. Swept and vacuumed most of floor - there was so much dust I may as well grow seeds under the bed.
- polished en suite mirror, towel rail and outside shower cubicle. Swept floor.
- shook rugs from bedroom and mats from bathroom out of the window. more dust.
2nd eve on the phone with wine-consoled friend who has just moved house. Lots of issues, all I can do is listen, but sounds like a nightmare of incompetent solicitors (her buyer's buyer hasn't completed), unhelpful co-executors (she has bought and moved into a late relative's house) who were meant to help clear house out, helpful but busy internet suppliers (although it is the same company, she may get TV tomorrow, internet on Monday and land line in 2 weeks time) etc.
Have a restful weekend everyone.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.10 -
ASB.. could the school do a video tour after school finishes? it would be helpful for all prospective children and parents to have a virtual tour. Or even next week when they finish for easter so your bugs and contaminents have time to die? If you can manage it just watching how the children go in and leave the school is very telling.. if they look bright and happy to be going in the morning and happy when they come out it is very telling. My daughters used to come out droopy amd grey at the rubbish school and they just sparkled once I moved them. With my grandpink we call it her sunshine. She is all sunny and chatty when she comes out of school but she got so sad and limp when it was closed. Join the school FB groups and spy on what is going on in terms of activities, trips, sports, etc. Ours do a weekly newlette which is always full of childrens achievements and prayers and just happiness.
Tomorrow the front room needs sorting.. Percy has shredded a cardboard box.. which Hazel has adopted as he new favourite place to lick herself.
I want to have a spot of tidying in my bear pit too. I have my eye on new wallpaper.. it is FLAMINGOS!!!!! I do need to finish Moomins room and then do DS2's room too.. I've had his wallpaper for 3 years!!I need to explore options for voluntary work too.. that should please Boog.. lazy turd!.. DS2 is quite happy to do anything and it is all experience and shows willingness to work.
