Morning all, yesterday was a long long day and when I went to my last lesson in town I discovered they had changed the locks and forgotten to tell me or arange a new key for me so I was less than pleased. This resulted in a very brisk walk to a friend who had a key and I got back to the centre just as my 2 kids arrived.
HOpe interview went well DM and hugs and sticks to everyone else, sorry I've only had a quick glance through as trying not to spend long on the computer.
Boiler service this morning and then away for the weekend to the other house to see DD2, it'll be the last time for at least a month as we work in an area that has its restrictions tightened.
Off to have some coffee and breakfast and pack a few bits for the weekend.

Morning xx
Yesterday the gasman was scheduled to carry out the boiler service between 8 and 1, and I had an optician's appointment at 1.15. When the gasman still hadn't arrived at 12.50 I phoned the company and explained that I expected him to have been and gone by 1 and I needed to leave the property at 1.05 to attend an appointment. Service was rearranged for this morning and he has here at 8.30 am. Been and gone. Done.
The optician was very reassuring - he says my dodgy eye is now on a par with the other eye in that both eyes are slightly more short sighted than they were in 2017. Apparently when he checked my eyes at the beginning of February my right eye had improved six points and that just doesn't happen - unless something is drastically wrong. I tried to be mse and asked for new lenses to be fitted in old frames. Not my current frames, but the last pair. Those frames cost £100 and look like new. So just had to pay for the lenses. £380. I could have paid £480 or £610 if I'd wanted to. I've never been given the choice before (new opticians) so I was a bit flummoxed but the way the young lady explained it the extra £100 was for not much difference. And the £610 were bespoke, top of the range (I want half a car for that money!) So we'll see. No pun intended lol,
I've made my bed, closed the windows that I'd opened in the room where the boiler is, fed the birds and put out the rubbish.
Fingers crossed DM xx
You too YL! It didn't occur to me that shoes might be getting smaller. I know that clothes sizes vary hugely - but I've always thought that shoe sizes were standard. In the first lockdown I walked with DS and I enjoyed it. A little wary of walking through the countryside on my own - but there are plenty of populated routes I can walk around the village. Note to self: buy comfy shoes and get moving before you start rolling!!!
Have a good day.
Hugs

Census carp done.. 10 minutes pp they said... 2 HOURS later I want to tantrum.. I've just clicked random boxes so if one of us 'black hobbit cult leader' and another is 'Irish Pixie goblin worshipper'... it's not my fault. Aaaaand we wonder where Dot gets her 3 second attention span from!Music lessons paid for 2 children.. 1 to be paid next week, they wanted it by the end of February but I'm a rebel! (and skint)PJs purchased for Squeak so hers can be handed down to the other 2.Bills paid.. bah!printer catridge ordered.. so I can print things again.. £20 I'd rather not spend but it will make my school appeals forms easier for others to read.. my ranty handwriting is not the best haha... *RAGE*
Next week I am getting the appeal forms sorted for Squeak and get those sent in. I have requested more information from the admissions team which they might not like but I do not own a fox. hahaRight.. lunch.. then I might have the brain power to focus on something else.
Dot had a bit of temp before school so I medicated that one and sent them off.. joys of being back at school.. everyone catches a plague or 3. We may be in for a quiet weekend if she is unwell.. I'm never sure if that is a good or a bad thing!

I didn’t get the temporary job I went for yesterday and as they are using the same interview for the permanent one, I’m not very hopeful for that either. It was my first interview since 2000. I have the problem of having to ring that office to arrange to have my Mum’s ashes scattered
I may have to put it off a while.

DM.. Something will come up.. don't be disheartened.. ((hugs)) Can you separate the phonecall from the physical place? As if you are ringing somewhere else entirely?? But I doubt it will hurt to leave things a few days. My great-aunt was cremated and when her daughter went to collect her (several months later) she was lost! We reckoned she had got bored and wandered off. 4 years later they rang her daughter and said Auntie Edna had turned up in a different cupboard.
OH doing the DW.. I eated foods
oooohhh... if you choose to not have The Jab they send a letter using a bigger font.. it's like being shouted at in letters.. Like repeating the same drivel in arial 18 rather then TNR 14 makes it say anything new or be convincing.. hahaha... *filed* .

Rats, Dancemum. It's always possible you were more successful than you think, but it's a bu**er trying to get back into the workforce after a career break. I hope you find just the right thing really soon.I'm absolutely shattered today so I'm not going to be doing very much today. Layla trundled, breakfast and lunch made and scoffed, dog food weighed out for the next week, things tidied. Busy weekend coming up, tomorrow clearing the garden next door of all of my gibble from last year's growing season which means a lot of humping and shoving into new places, and then Sunday will be spent on Foodbank stuff. Today is the one day I can take it easy so I will.Very surprisingly I was thrilled with the way the Cornish pasties turned out so rather than buying them in future I will be making them for us. Now that I've done it once it won't be so daunting the next time. I made eight in total, so there are now six in the freezer.Better is good enough.8

Thanks Ladies, I think it is the straw that broke the camels back as I more upset than losing my Mum and Dad and being attacked daily and DS2 having to move out. 😢

Dancemum you have had so much to deal with in such a short space of time, anyone would be finding it tough, and no-one finds going for an interview easy. If it didnt work out it maybe wasnt right for you but dont write it off just yet, you never know.
Glad its good news on your eyes Round. I have been back to the opticians for a second time because the long distance vision with my new glasses just doesnt feel right. They said my eye test showed the same result, but they are going to put a new lens in. This means I am back to my old glasses which turn computer screens all blurry, its a good job I am on holiday next week!
Sorry about the bad news ASB x
Paid stuff done, DS2 dispatched to the train station. I miss DS1 coming in from work at half three, probably a good job I am going back to the office 2 days a week after my holidays. Very uncomplicated pasta for tea, the fridge is bare but I couldnt be bothered with the supermarket today.
Fire lit and feet up, no idea what time DH will be home.10
