I tried for over a week to speak to the person at the garage. On some occasions no answer, then on Friday I managed to speak to someone and was told they could not get into his computer, but he would be back on Saturday. No answer at all on Saturday from anyone.

I did manage to speak to someone this morning, though. They have increased their offer on my trade-in by £350, plus half a tank of petrol (as there is half a tank in mine).

I said I'd get back to them later on.

Will the fact that it's an ex-demo car reduce it's value when I come to sell it or trade it in at a later date?

Almost certainly not by a single penny. Same car, just two previous keepers instead of one.

They called me back with an offer of another £100 on my trade-in, so I've now paid the deposit.
I have 7 days after delivery to decide if I want to return it, and if so they will collect it and bring back my trade-in at no additional cost. However, hopefully I'll like the car.

    Thanks for all your advice.

How did you get on with discount?

Its my belief that you buy via the dealer not Hey cars, they are only an Introducer. All  chats were with the main dealer.

As above. A total of £450 extra for my trade-in, compared to their starting offer.

So just for confirmation, they didnt discount their car at all but worked to get you a better trade in price.

That was in line with my expectation RE: their car, but good on you for holding out on your car for a better price.

That £450 is much better in your pocket than theirs.

I didn't ask for a discount on the car I was buying, in view of the comments people made here saying it was a good price. I decided to ask for a better price for my trade-in.
